A view of the inner harbor and Protection Island’s floating pub, the Dinghy Dock, is a feast to the eyes. The Hatfield House is less than two blocks, a stone throw away from the spectacular waterfront seawall walkway leading to the downtown core of Nanaimo and a short distance to the Nanaimo Yacht Club. In addition to the phenomenal location, the Hatfield House boats of exceptional finishes and antique style furniture. This Victorian home has been completely restored to reflect an era gone by yet has all of the modern conveniences. It is designed to take you on a historical journey. The décor and atmosphere is a century old to create the luxury experience of a Captains home. The gourmet kitchen has been completely remodeled and includes an island eating area, together with a chef’s pot hanger. The upscale stainless steel appliances include a fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave and a bonus beverage fridge. This gourmet’s kitchen is fully equipped so that you may indulge in all your culinary cooking desires. The Hatfield House sleeps six comfortably. Each bedroom is finished with designer quality to reflect the historical era. There is a king size bed in the large quiet Hatfield Room overlooking the bar and barbeque area. The harbor Room on the upper level has a cozy four-poster queen bed and harbor views. The Captains Room on the ground floor boats a four-poster queen size bed and extra sound proofing to ensure an uninterrupted and restful sleep, (ideal for an elderly member of the family that cannot manage stairs). Each bedroom on the upper level has direct access to the bathroom (jack and jill) equipped with both a shower and a tub. The magnificent soaker tub with jets is large enough for two. It is located directly beneath an opening skylight so that you can relax, drink champagne, enjoy the stars and reflect on life the way it used to be. Entertain in the exquisite dining room boasting two sets of double doors that open on the outside covered deck and into the living room. A stained glass window and expansive chandelier adorn he elegant antique table that seats eight. Historical paraphernalia tastefully decorates this extraordinary room creating a titanic dining room atmosphere. It is not difficult to envision the Captain sitting on the Italian leather couch in the living room, sipping brandy, and reflecting on grand adventures. He can retire to the adjoining heated covered deck for a Cuban cigar before bed. A 48” flat screen TV with full cable above the gas fireplace serves as a reminder that this is only a capsule of time and that when the journey ends, you will return to reality and the new millennium. The full bath on the ground floor has a claw foot tub with shower. Wall unit hairdryers are provided in both baths, as well as an ample supply of towels and other linens. Even the utility room, which includes a washer and dryer, is taste fully finished. The large backyard is designed to allow you to escape. The high-end stainless steel barbeque, bar, and patio, invite you to entertain and relax. A CD Player is provided with outdoor speakers to maximize your enjoyment.
