The Hansen Lodge is perfectly located for your vacation on the spectacularly scenic Oregon Coast, framed by Tillamook Head. You will be a short walk to the waves of the Pacific Ocean & the Seaside Golf Course and a mile walk/bike ride to the heart of Seaside.
The spacious (4,500 square feet) Lodge will accommodate up to four families with children - up to 15 people accommodated in three large king bedrooms, each with its own bath, on the main floor and an a fourth floor king bedroom & "bunk room" with 7 twin beds and a shared bath on the second floor.
You will love entertaining your friends & family in the fabulous new expansive vaulted dining room with a Chihuly-like chandelier & open kitchen with high end appliances and beautifully appointed with Italian pottery and copper cookware.
You & your family and friends will create special memories of playing board games by the fire in the family room; watching your favorite movies & sports by the fire in the living room; and playing pool, foosball and shuffleboard in the upstairs game room.
Outside every evening will be a memory by two fire pits with lots of seating where hot dogs and s'mores will delight and you can grill crab and other seafood. When you return from the beach two outside hot showers are available.
Enjoy day trips to Astoria and the Astor column overlooking the historic Columbia River - the oldest American settlement west of the Mississippi River, to the art galleries at Canon Beach, crabbing on Nehalem Bay or visit the Tillamook cheese Factory.
The Hansen Lodge was built in 1939 by iconic local designers & builders Al & Betty Hansen. The main floor is a wood lovers delight of tight grain fir, knotty pine and cedar paneling that shows best in the evening lights. The exterior is reminiscent of a Scandinavian farmhouse apropos of Hansen's heritage. The Lodge is decorated as a home with western art, family memorabilia, and Pendleton blankets. Seaside was the first Pendleton retail store in 1920 and it still exists in the Outlet Mall. Did you know that the original name of the Beach Boys was the "Pentletones" because back in the day surfers wore wool shirts for warmth after "shooting the curl.
Guests will have complete privacy. As a condition of allowing up to 15 people The City of Seaside requires that the owner be on site. The owner has a suite in the daylight basement with its own outside entrance and no access to the house or other parts of the basement. The owner will be available to assist you, as requested, but otherwise he will make every effort to be invisible.
