We are NOT in Sudbury We are near the town of Markstay, about 50km, 1 hr drive east of Sudbury. This website has trouble with off-grid location. Washagami Landing is 20 acres of forest (3 acres developed) on a small peninsula, by the calm and beautiful Lake Washagami. With no immediate neighbours and few cottages on the lake, this place is perfect for a private retreat. We are an unique private family compound, not your typical cottage. We have 2 cottages; can be rented separately or together. Fully equipped kitchen and 1 washroom (with bathtub) is shared by the cottages, located in the Main Cottage. The guest cottages ("Garage", "Boathouse") are sleeping cottages with various amenities. There are also separate sauna/shower/vanity building and 2 piece washroom. We stay in the Main cottage as your hosts. We are also the onsite management for the off-grid property; we look after our own power, water, and septic. We respect your full privacy and you will mostly find us watering plants and doing maintenance. The oldest building on the property was built in the 1940s. The place is a collection of memories and put together from years of love and care by generations of owners. We hope you will also treasure and love your experience here! ~1500ft of shoreline and ~100ft of dock access (+1 floating dock). Great for fishing, canoeing, swimming, kayaking. As part of the Chiniguchi Waterway system - popular route for portaging / canoeing to see the world's oldest red pine forest. Fish: pickerel, pike, small mouth bass, musky (trout in Maskinonge Lake, few kilometres north of us and connected by a dam). The Silver Styx Golf Course (18holes) is 30 minutes drive from our location.
