Downstairs, the cottage contains a spacious open living/kitchen/dining space. The living area has seating for 10—a large comfy couch, a wicker settee, 2 wicker side chairs, 2 supremely comfortable stationary rockers (perfect for afternoon naps!), and a vintage rush-seat rocker. (The furnishings have been updated since the accompanying photos were taken.)
The recently renovated kitchen features expansive granite countertops and a central island with four stools. It is fully furnished with high-quality equipment and utensils—gas stove, large microwave, large fridge, mini fridge for overflow summer beverages, dishwasher, Keurig and drip coffeemakers, toaster, blender, hand mixer, full array of pots and pans, cutting boards, high-quality knives, Oxo utensils, baking supplies, serveware, potholders, etc. Also dishes, silverware, and complete array of glassware for 12-14.
The large round dining table seats 10; in addition, with 2 additional wooden chairs plus supplied folding chairs and folding table, it’s possible to seat up to 14 if you have visitors. We also supply two booster-style baby seats.
A cozy study also on the first floor contains a flat-screen TV equipped with basic cable service and a DVD player; a pullout double bed; and a desk area with a provided HP laserjet printer. High-speed cable wifi is also included in your rental. We also have an assortment of family games (Scrabble, Sorry, Clue, etc.); playing cards; jigsaw puzzles; and light summertime reading matter.
A laundry/storage area, a half-bath, and an adjacent shower room complete the downstairs amenities.
Upstairs, there is a full bath (with tub/shower) and five bedrooms—two with two single beds each, and three with double beds (one of which also includes a full-sized safety-compliant crib).
The cottage is fully heated and air-conditioned and is available for occupancy year round.
All bed linens (100% cotton sheets, including for the crib, and pillowcases); blankets; quilts; pillows; bath towels, face towels, and washcloths; dish towels; and beach towels are provided.
In addition, we provide all household consumables as part of your rental—including toilet paper, plastic bags, cling wrap, foil, cleaning supplies, soap, detergent, etc.
Outdoors, there is a small front flagstone patio for bike storage (4 adult bikes and 2 kid bikes come with the cottage); a supplied red wagon to tote kids or beach “stuff”; and two bins for beach-supplies storage—plus an outdoor shower and a foot-washing station. And a back peastone patio contains a large stainless-steel gas grill (with supplied propane tanks), a picnic table and benches, and a round table and chairs. We even provide a complete cornhole game set—two boards and two sets of beanbags! There are also three dedicated parking spaces immediately adjacent to the cottage.
