As owners we have always put the safety of our guests first, that is why we along with a professional cleaner choose when we first started this rental to do and supervise the cleaning ourselves. The covid 19 cleaning guidelines has been part of our protocol, we have incorporated disinfectants that sterilize along with our cleaning products. We have also purchased a steam mop to use on all tile surfaces as part of a two step process. We encourage you to read our reviews clean is almost in every one of them.
.Big Pine Cabin sits on 5.5 acres of wooded land on a mountainside, with a small cluster of cabins below and is bordered by The Roosevelt National Forrest in the Big Thompson Canyon. The property has breathtaking views of rock out cropings, pine trees, wildflowers, and peek a boo views from the living room window, patio door, and the deck of the Big Thompson River and of course the wildlife .Big Pine Cabin is only 4 miles from downtown Estes Park,so you can enjoy all that town has to offer and relax here when you tire of the crowds. The Big Thompson is the home of the Big Horn Sheep which can be seen off the roadway looking for nibbles of grass, keep your eyes open and camera's ready! Elk like the one featured in the picture right off our deck pass through our yard on the way to the river for a drink usually in spring, early summer and the fall, as well as deer and other wildlife.The backside of the cabin opens to up to our 5 acres where you can hike or enjoy the deck.If you are a hiker you will eventually come to National Forrest behind the property. As a guest of Big Pine Cabin you have access to our private property on the Big Thompson River,(approx. 100 yards from our door to the stairway envision a standard football field)that leads down to the river.Early morning or evening is a perfect time to fly fish (we do have a few standard fishing poles and a tackle box but the more seasoned fisherman usually bring their own.)You may choose to enjoy your morning coffee on the deck as you listen to the birds sing the sun up through the trees you may see several hummingbirds sipping the nectar off the flowers, just don't wear red or they might think you are a very large geranium. Keep your eye out for a spotted fawn or the antlers of a buck,and of course a bear or two may amble by, they stay their distance as we never feed them or leave out any food. We have a stainless steel propane grill so cook out as much as you like and enjoy eating under the umbrella when the sun is too hot! Star gazing on the deck while sitting by the outdoor propane heater to keep warm and cozy is one of our favorite ways to spend an evening.
The main level consists of the living room which is carpeted with leather furniture and free standing wood stove with glass door so you can relax and watch the fire. But don't worry there is a furnace for those who would rather turn a dial. The television a H.D. smart T.V. and is hooked to Direct T.V. guests can put in their hulu, amazon prime, netflix account info and access their movies or live streaming as well.. Our dining room and kitchen is an open tiled area with sliding glass doors to our deck and windows that give you a view of the woods right from the large dining table.
The kitchen has a supply of spices and other staples for your convenience. Your basic appliances ( fridge and stove top, oven, dishwasher plus microwave, toaster ,coffee pot, ice tea maker, crock pot,and blender. The guest bathroom is tiled and has a tub and shower, while the master bathroom has a tile shower with built in bench. The master bedroom has a fairly new, bought Jan. 2019 select comfort king size bed (your back will love it) and log furniture, ceiling fan and quilts for the cool mountain nights. The loft sleeps two on a double size bed with it's sky lights and ceiling fan is a perfect place for the kids (we also have a pac n play crib). Up stairs are two bedrooms one queen and the other has a full size bed. All bedrooms are carpeted and have lots of pillows and quilts! For the safety of our guests we use a sleep defense system( all mattresses and box springs are enclosed in protective coverings)
We have free WiFi so you can stay connected (if you choose to) We have an assortment of games, toys, puzzles, books, horse shoes you can set up and assortment of trucks and toys all in an outside toy box. We also have a porta potty, booster chairs and stroller to make your stay easier.
We are a non-smoking residence this includes tobacco products and marijuana, smoking is allowed outside and we cannot accept any pets. We must follow Estes Park guidelines for our house only eight people allowed children included.
