THE SETTING: The Rainbow River is a 5.7 mile winding river that merges with world class bass fishing on the Withlacoochee River, only a few miles down the river from our home. The river is easily accessible by boat with a dock on our property! Bring your boat or rent one locally. The Rainbow River is a crystal-clear spring fed river that stays a constant 72 degrees and is abundant with fish, wildlife, and vegetation. Put your tube or kayak in at Rainbow Springs State Park and float or cruise the 4 mile stretch of the Rainbow before arriving back at the dock right in front of our home. You can also of course put your kayak or canoe in from our dock and go up or down the Rainbow. The Rainbow River attracts nature enthusiasts who take interest in kayaking, tubing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and paddle boarding the incredible Caribbean-like crystal clear water and again, end up at your own dock. Maybe water sports aren't your thing? Enjoy the beautiful views from our screened in porch and lovely deck as you sit back and enjoy a book or a cocktail and watch the amazing wildlife and birds. . ALSO- two doors down from Riverflow is Swampy's Bar and Grille, wonderful local restaurant and watering-hole. Aquatic Wilderness Adventures, in the same parking lot as Swampy's, is the perfect place to rent kayaks, paddle boards, tubes and more. They even offer a shuttle service to the top of the river if you wish to float down. OUR HOME: Our large 5 BR 3 BA family home, located in the lovely Blue Cove community, is situated mere feet from the crystal blue water of the Rainbow River. The house is surrounded by native vegetation and a giant moss-draped oak tree offering your family lots of privacy! Enjoy a grapefruit, meyer lemon, or an orange off of our flourishing citrus trees. Our beautiful screened in porch, is located just feet from the river! A wonderful place to enjoy coffee, cocktails, a meal, or just quality time with the people you love while looking at the beautiful crystal clear river. The family room is just off the porch with a wonderful view of the river and cozy, eclectic seating for your entire group. Bring your Netflix, Amazon Prime or other movie App password and watch a great movie from our TV fitted with Roku and Direct TV. Or curl up for a family visit and decide what great adventure to go on tomorrow. The massive master bedroom suite boasts beautiful views of the Rainbow from the bay window and is equipped with a King bed and even is large enough for a sectional sofa and sitting/reading/wild life watching area. This room has a huge closet and a bathroom and dressing area. An additional queen bedroom is also located on the river side of the home with a beautiful view of the sparkling River. Two additional queen bedrooms share a large full bathroom/powder room on the opposite side of the home. The huge game/play room has a day bed and trundle for two as well as a pool/ping pong table. This room shares a bathroom with the kitchen/dining area and is a great place to accommodate your vacation-loving kiddos. NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: Walt Disney World- 1.5 hours Ocala (famous for the their world-renown thoroughbred horse farms)- 35 mins Withlacoochee River- 10 mins (by boat). Some of the best bass fishing in the country. Rainbow Springs State Park (public swimming beach, waterfalls, and hiking trails)- 10 mins Withlacoochee State Trail, a 46 mile long paved, multi-use, non-motorized former rail trail. It follows along the Withlacoochee River and passes through the Withlacoochee State Forest. It is the longest paved rail trail in FL. Bring your bikes, your hiking boots or your running shoes and make a day of it. Gainesville, FL- 50 mins. Home to University of FL, go Gators!
