Summary: Prior to our trip we reached out to Vacasa to confirm if the house had certain amenities, like iron and ironing board, hair dryers, pull-out sleeper location, etc. Vacasa’s “support” staff told us it didnt supply the iron or the hair dryer, and that the pull out was in the main living room (it wasnt, it was in the lounge room leading to the master suite). So we lugged an iron, hair dryer, and an air mattress to the house. Turns out that Vacasa, who is paid to “professionally manage” this rental, was incorrect on all of this. Awesome, what else are they not paying attention to? When we arrived at this house, the carpets were stained and dirty in multiple places. The house wasn’t well cleaned, and there were numerous burned out lightbulbs throughout the house. There was an odd wet spot on the carpet leading into the master suite that didnt dry for three days. Pretty gross. The washer worked, but the dryer wouldn’t power on at all - totally unresponsive. We tried everything including the breaker box, but the dryer was toast. This was confirmed by someone from Vacasa who stopped by once and we never heard from them again. We texted with support numerous times over the entire week. Again and again they said they would update us when they heard back, but we never heard anything resembling a resolution, and our request for a replacement dryer was never responded to by Vacasa. It was really quite disappointing. We have two younger kids, and we really need access to laundry when we are staying somewhere for a week of outdoors, hiking, biking, swimming, etc. We expect a refund for a portion of our fees paid for this week, but as of writing this we still havent heard anything… Vacasa has really taken over at Black Butte. Our recommendation is that if you can find a house for rent that they arent managing, you’re going to have a *much* better experience. This house could be a really good house. The location is great. WiFi worked nicely. Well-stocked and enough space for four adults and two kids comfortably. Three bathrooms with showers is awesome! But Vacasa being a really terrible property manager from the perspective of the paying guests just takes so much shine off the week. I hope owners of these properties consider this going forward.
