The Golden Barrel boasts 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a large bright living room, full kitchen, indoor dining area, outdoor fire pit with seating area to enjoy the views and abundant nature around and an outdoor BBQ grill with seating to sit back and relax and enjoy the stars above. Golden Barrel is a historic homestead adobe home on a charming one-acre parcel of land in the Mojave Desert Town of Yucca Valley. The property offers both a BBQ and propane fire feature, as well as four outdoor living areas for lounging and dining while enjoying the outstanding vistas of the surrounding hills and mountains, including San Gorgonio. While its ideal location means short drives to all of the High Desert's most popular attractions and amenities. Golden Barrel Homestead dates back to 1949. Subsequent to the passing of the Small Tract Act of 1938, the original adobe brick structure was built as the part of the trend of building homestead cabins in the desert. The original adobe brick structure was expanded over the years. It now offers two bedrooms and two bathrooms — with open-plan living and dining areas. In the mid-nineties the kitchen was added to the house and the barn built. Additionally, there are four outdoor “living” spaces — two dining areas and two lounging areas. Each of these areas offer views of the surrounding natural beauty and are perfect for watching sunrises, sunsets and for stargazing. The house sits on a one-acre parcel of land in the quiet community of Juniper Terrace. The immediate area is characterized by an abundance of Joshua Trees and beautiful views most notably to the West the San Bernardino Mountain Range, including Southern California's highest peak, San Gorgonio and to the north Chaparros Peak and the surrounding hills that make the Yucca Valley. High Desert's most popular attractions include Joshua Tree National Park and Pappy & Harriet's, the legendary restaurant, bar and music venue. Even Palm Springs, with its restaurants and shopping, is not far away. • OTHER THINGS TO NOTE Professionally managed by Hi-Desert Dwellings • RENTAL AGREEMENT There will be a rental agreement sent out that will need a signature to complete the reservation • A/C / HEAT The Golden Barrel Homestead is cooled by mini splits in each room. This will help keep the house cool during warmer desert days and warmer during those chilly nights. • WASHER/DRYER The Golden Barrel Homestead has a washer and dryer available to guests that's are staying with us for an extended period for 3 or more days. If you are traveling with an infant or young children please let us know and we will give you access to the laundry room too. • EV CHARGER Please let us know if you would like to use the EV charger and we can send over instructions and how to access during your stay. There are no added fees. • GAMES We have provided a number of indoor games and outdoor activities for kids and adults alike. Be sure to keep all the pieces and parts together where they belong so everyone can continue to enjoy them. • FIRE Due to the location and a current fire ban there is a strict no open flames fire policy BUT the propane fire pit located outside if allowed • IDENTITY VERIFICATION You will receive a text or email from Guest Ranger that will ask you to verify your identiy and submit a picture of a government issued ID and a selfie. This information will be used to verify that the booking guest matches the credit card used and to help reduce any issues with identity theft. This process is mandatory to complete the booking. The data is protected in a hash-encrypted vault following data security standards including GDPR. Data-input in the vault is encrypted in a two-way function where information is scrambled using an encryption key and unscrambled later using a decryption key. On top of that, we use hashing to add an extra layer of security using a one-way function where a unique message digest is generated from an input file or a string of text. No keys are used.
