Very spacious comfortably furnished traditional cottage in the mountain pass hamlet of Nant Gwynant, 3 ½ miles north of Beddgelert, in the heart of Snowdonia National Park. Just 2 ½ miles from Snowdon summit as the crow flies, the cottage enjoys dramatic views of Lliwedd and the Snowdon range. Originally 3 separate miner's cottages from about 1860, Glyn Awel is well-equipped throughout and includes a large farmhouse style dining kitchen with wood burning stove, twin electric oven and ceramic hob; a chic utility with fridge freezer microwave and dishwasher; a reading room with feature slate floor, and a large comfortable lounge with inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove, TV, and media centre with a selection of DVDs. Ultrafast FTTP Wireless broadband, parking for up to 4 cars. There are 2 bedrooms each with a king-size bed ,and three twin bedrooms each with two 3' single beds. The large rear garden on several levels is the perfect place to enjoy a barbecue with tremendous views (BBQ and garden furniture are provided); however, steep terraces mean that young children will need to be supervised outside. The rear yard has gates which when closed seals off the garden for dogs or children. Clear skies and lack of light pollution make this a great place for night vistas, too. Plenty of walking at all levels straight from the cottage door. The Watkin path up Snowdon starts 1/4 mile away; and the Snowdon Sherpa bus network runs past the cottage making many round trips possible. Other attractions such as Porthmadog, Black Rock Sands Beach, Portmeirion, Llanberis, Criccieth Castle and Betws-y-Coed are all about 30 minutes scenic drive away by car. Licensed cafe 1/4 mile way, otherwise the nearby charming village of Beddgelert offers local shops and a range of pubs and restaurants and access to the Welsh Highland Railway.
