Janine, Findlay and I (Jeremy) are delighted that you are interested in a GiteRetreats stay for your holiday this year. GiteRetreats is a Four Star Meuble De Tourisme accredited private traditional Charentaise farmhouse constructed in the 1800s from local white stone and topped off by red terracotta roof tiles. The property is nestled in the peaceful hamlet of Le Brandard which is a small hamlet near Coulonges in the 'Petite Champagne' appellation Cognac region and set in 2 acres of peaceful mature gardens. This hamlet sits between the quiet villages of Coulonges to the west and Lonzac to the east. The property is surrounded by vineyards and sunflower fields and is truly quiet and secluded whilst still only being less than 10 minutes away from the medieval town of Pons (also a Ville Fleuris) to the west. So you're never too far from fantastic shopping and attractions. The private walled gardens, private heated saltwater pool, private courtyard and private grounds are the perfect place to unwind whilst surrounded by the beautiful French countryside. When you book ‘La Maison’ you are guaranteed the sole use of the house, heated saltwater pool, gardens and grounds. All GiteRetreats bookings include fresh crisp white linen, fluffy white towels and separate pool towels for use during the stay. There are two Landmann charcoal BBQs, wooden dining table & chairs, separate BBQ table, sun loungers, deckchairs and sunshades available for guests to use whilst on site. We have a wide range of board games, full '4G' satellite TV, free '4G' WiFi and a host of childrens DVDs for quiet time before bed. We can confirm that we have a wide range of pool toys, boules, quoits, palet, garden skittles, croquet, badminton net/racquets, pétanque and garden Jenga for guests to use in the private walled gardens and grounds. There are a wealth of activities and attractions for both adults and more importantly children in the region. The Charente Maritime and Charente departments have a wealth market days and nights available to visit. Pons, Cognac, Bordeaux, Royan, Jonzac, La Rochelle, Saintes, Ile de Re and Angouleme are all well worth a visit !!! We have more information available should you want to plan your schedule. All stays during June, July and August are for 7 nights with ‘check-ins' being after 16:00 on Saturday afternoon with 'check-outs’ taking place on Saturday mornings by 10:00.
