Summary: Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at Destin West several times and have reserved for next year — but not in this unit. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: location, view, access to beautiful beach and other Destin West resort amenities. Cons regarding this specific unit: Dirty. We got supplies from Dollar Tree to clean enough to feel comfortable in. Bathroom floors very dirty - needed both brush, mop, plus several water changes to get layers of dirt removed. Wife also wiped down walls and surfaces areas in bedroom, bathrooms, and kitchen. Several plug in’s don’t work. Laminate floor in hallway, kitchen/living area poorly installed and are uneven/warped. Over the stove microwave has a “do not use” message written on it and replaced with countertop microwave, taking up counter space. While has most basic kitchen items, could use some additions (bowls, storage containers, oven pans, Keurig). Bottoms of bathroom vanities and some floor moldings breaking down. They do have a decent vacuum which we used to clean bedroom carpet.
