This is a magical little cottage by the beach and an easy walk from town. Come fish, stargaze, play games, jump in the water, pick berries, laze in the hammock, tell stories, listen to the surf, smell the flowers...come stay at the Little Brown Jug! This vintage 1950's writers beach cottage is set back from the road, yet is just across the street from Crescent beach. Private & unassuming, this cozy cottage is quietly situated directly on Harbor Pond. This island gem also has its own private dock—perfect for launching a paddle board, kayak or small boat-or, for sitting quietly and reading, fishing or observing the pond's stunning bird activity. It's large outdoor shower, within a stone's throw of the pond, is surrounded by honeysuckle, wild roses, sunrises and evening sunsets! This 'classic' cottage is perfect for those who seek both beauty and simplicity... Many of our tenants have chosen, because of our location, to leave their cars on the mainland. Little Brown Jug is a mere 10 minute walk from town and a quick walk or bike ride to Payne's Dock & New Harbor. The cottage interior is both cheerful & colorful and comfortably sleeps 4 (maximum). There are 2 bedrooms upstairs-one oriented toward the east, facing the ocean and sunrise on Crescent Beach. The 2nd bedroom looks toward the west & directly out over gorgeous Harbor Pond and evening sunset. The first floor has a kitchen, bath w/original claw foot tub/shower, and living rm with sofa, 3 chairs, hammock, desk & large flat screen television for DVD/movie viewing only. The simple kitchen, sans dishwasher, is highly functional and well-equipped, and there is a breezy, small deck and outdoor gas grill for guests use as well.
