Positive: The host, Nishanti was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was beyond my expectations. It came with not just one, but two beds (even though I was traveling alone). A mosquito net was provided, along with a small cube of soap in the bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised to find a water heater which is quite rare for guesthouses and even air conditioning! The value for money was excellent and breakfast was included too. I also highly recommend trying Kumari’s Restaurant, run by Nishanti’s sister, right next to the homestay. Their rice and curry was one of the best meals I had in Sri Lanka. Everything was freshly made with local spices and herbs. Truly authentic and full of flavor!
Negative: There were some mosquitoes and there was a short power outage around midnight, but it came back to normal within two hours hence not a big issue.
Summary: Wonderful stay with great value!
