Our refurbished 1824 stone house is in Trausse, a small wine-growing village in the Minervois region of France. The house has all the modern amenities including newly updated kitchen and bathroom with dual sinks and walk-in shower. The house has an inviting entry foyer with a beautiful antique wooden stairway. There is a very comfortable living room with seating for six, and a 40" HD TV with SFR cable and wi-fi. The large kitchen and dining room has seating for eight. Upstairs are two very comfortable bedrooms. The master has a queen bed, and the second a double bed. The sitting room has a queen sofa bed. Most furniture pieces are beautiful 19th century antiques in great condition, some are older. The whole house air conditioner is reversible for efficient heating as well. Amenities include: an HD TV on each floor, Wifi, Bluetooth speaker, American size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer, all cooking supplies and dish service for 8. Trausse is near Carcassonne, Narbonne, Minerve and Caunes. Weekly markets in Olonzac, St. Chinian, and Carcassonne.
There is common outdoor space a block away in the village square under the plane trees with benches for sitting.. A small table and two chairs is provided for use in front of the house. Trausse is a small village of wine-growers with a village store, mayor's office, a pre-school, petanque and tennis courts, 4 wineries and a hairdresser. The area is perfect for walks, hikes, biking and wine-tasting at the numerous minervois wine shops.
The nearest public pool, supermarket, and hardware store is located in Peyriac, 5 minutes away. Doctor's offices, a pharmacy, boulangerie, and restaurants are just 5 minutes in Caunes or Peyriac. Major shopping is located in Carcassonne, a world heritage site, only 25 minutes away. In addition to the medieval fortress and old town, you can find a shopping mecca with 4 huge shopping centers.
