Nestled among woodlands, Fort Getaway has a huge wraparound deck where you’ll be able to revel in the crisp mountain breezes, the chirping of hummingbirds, and the sight of deer frolicking among the towering trees. Parts of the deck are covered so that you can relax in the shade during the summer; other parts are wide open, enabling you to marvel at the star-studded sky at night. Summary: We decided to change things up this year and go on a mini vacation for Thanksgiving. Over the years we’ve stayed at numerous cabins in and around the Ruidoso and Alto area, and this cabin has been our favorite. Clean, beautiful, great location, and easy to deal with the property manager.
