About this space
Peaceful, close to nature, 8 km to town. Main house sleeps up to 8. One wet room/bathroom.
Separate guest house: 25sqm cabin (electric toilet, sofa bed, shower, kitchen) sleeps 2.
Separate wood-fired sauna, canoe, bbq, wifi, lake swimming & interesting local sights.
Hiking, foraging, skiing (long term stays in winter), large mammal spotting. Not toddler/disabled friendly. Stairgate easy to fix though.
Available 25 Aug-8 Oct 2024 or later, winter (Nov-April) only long term & by arrangement.
The space
There are two houses - a 100 year old big house (3 double bedrooms, spacious landing can sleep 2, one bathroom/wetroom), and a new 25 sqm cabin with open plan room + shower + electric toilet. Both have decks with lake/forest views. Both houses have modern kitchens. Cooking utensils, plates etc amply provided. You can borrow the canoe & 2 paddles, some safety vests available, and picnic gear. The kettle BBQ & coals are in the workshop.
Please keep children under good supervision. Sweden has ticks, other biting insects, the 'hugorm' or adder-viper which has been spotted in the yard (they wake up in the strong May sunshine, and return to base in the autumn!). They are a protected species - yes.
The position of the hob (main house) isn't ideal for children - watch out if hot. Encourage them not to run thru the kitchen!
Separate wood fired sauna cabin with own deck. Barn/workshop with wood. If in cabin, ask if you need use of iron/board or washing machine as these 2 items are only in the big house. No dryer. Wifi with portable plug-in router - not unlimited, speed is good. If you need extra data there is a charge. Printer (B&W) available if you have a cable for your device to USB2.
Excellent cross country ski tracks in winter a short drive away in Nordansjö, or alpine skiing in Romme about an hour's drive.
Guest access
Whichever house you choose to be in, the whole space is yours - the little cabin for a couple, main house if more people. You will see what is personal belongings, but no part is closed off as such.
