While you are researching your vacation, there are a few very important points to consider before booking your luxury Costa Rican estate so you can be sure your booking choice is absolutely perfect and comfortable for you and your guests. Here are a few items to for you to consider.
**Location ~We are located in the jungle rainforest (but 2 miles as the crow flies to the ocean) and this allows for year round fresh water, cooler evenings, wonderfully kind local residents, and the pure untouched natural beauty and wildlife that make this country so amazing and unforgettable!
***Proximity to highways ~ You want to be close but not too close, since all highways in Costa Rica are thoroughfares for 24-hour semi-truck travel, this can be very loud. Castillo Del Sol is 2 miles from the highway so there is zero highway noise! All you hear during your stay are the monkeys, toucans, macaws and many other species of animals that surround the estate!
***Proximity to beaches ~ Again you want to be close but not too close. If you are too close you have to spend your mornings and evenings inside due to the overwhelming amount of no see ums (sand fleas and/or beach bugs) these small nuisances can affect your vacation enjoyment. Castillo Del Sol was meticulously placed just out of reach of these critters, but within 5 miles you can be on one of the most beautiful beaches in the country! Mosquitos ~ Same answer as no see ums. Because we are on a ridge at a higher elevation, the breezes keep the mosquitos away. You will almost certainly not see the mosquitoes that frequent beach and sea level areas.
***Do the owners and management stay in the house and utilize the amenities while you stay? ~This does happen at other exclusive estates in the area!! The only visitors that come up to the estate as needed to clean pools, and perform garden maintenance, other than that the estate is privately yours with no intrusions on your privacy!
***Daily maid service ~***This service has been suspended due to covid restrictions
***Personalized concierge service. If you request we will do our best to assist with all needs before your arrival in the country. Well before you arrive it is necessary to preplan and get reservations for cars and excursions completed and it is necessary to do this as early as possible!!! This also gives you peace of mind that every detail of your vacation is already scheduled for you. All you have to do is arrive and enjoy this amazing property and country!!
***Privately owned and owner managed Estates ~We and our partner own the estate and my husband and I live at the main entrance of the property (far away and out of site of the main home) to ensure the property is always meticulously maintained and is secure at all times. This also allows us to be available and ready to assist if anything in the home is ever in need of service. There is no waiting for the property manager to get approval from the owners and then hire a repair service.
