This is a true Folly Beach house with all the comforts of today. Our home features a one bedroom apartment in addition to the home. We want our guest to feel assured we are practicing a germ free environment with using a sanitization and cleaning procedures. We have put away extras such as decorative pillows, shams, dishes etc. are put away. We also have a supply of disinfecting cleaning products to leave with you during your stay. WEEKLY SUMMER RENTALS run SATURDAY - SATURDAY (June, July, August) The rest of the year is a minimum of 2 - 4 nights, depending on the season and are subject to change daily. Please see our rates for more details. **HIGH-SPEED, WIRELESS INTERNET ~ AC ~ WASHER & DRYER ~ NO SMOKING ~ ALL LINENS & TOWELS PROVIDED (EXCEPT BEACH TOWELS). ** YOU MUST BE 25 YEARS OLD TO RENT THIS UNIT. VERIFICATION OF THIS WILL BE DONE PRIOR TO ARRIVAL. ** CHECK-IN (4 PM) CHECK-OUT (10 AM) The Folly Barrack House has a spacious king master bedroom with twin size daybed and full private bath and smaller kids room with twin bunk beds. Living room has double sofa sleeper. Galley style kitchen with plenty of cabinets and counter space. Kitchen is fully equipped including extras such as a blender, toaster, and mixer. All rooms have LCD cable T.V.' with HBO and Starz in main den/sun room area as well as a Blu-Ray player. Very open floor plan with lots of natural light. Sun room also has a double size sofa sleeper for that extra person that tags along. Beach access just across the street and beach view from the den/sunroom. Second bathroom just off the living room. Split level decks off of the sun room. Large yard with plenty of parking for all. Plenty of room for a boat and the boat landing is just 11 blocks from the house. The Sea Shed was built under the Folly Barrack House in the 1950's. Brick and block walls were once home to one of Folly's infamous key clubs that entertained many locals and celebrities alike. Today we have transitioned her into a sweet one bedroom apartment that is steps away from the beach. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a special meal and a quaint bathroom separates the main room from the bedroom. Keywords: The history of the Folly Barrack House began at the turn of the last century with WWI. The army installed hundred of metal 'barracks' in North Charleston near the Naval Yard to house troops headed for Europe. At the end of the war, the 'barracks' were given away to anyone who would disassemble them and haul them away. In the mid 1920's, two 'barracks' were brought to Folly, re-assembled, a room placed between them, a front porch added across the front and a back porch also. This formed the beginnings of the Folly Barrack House. Our family has vacationed here since 1950 and wants to share the experience with others. First floor efficiency was added in the 70's. Complete renovation Spring 2012. A two minute walk to the beach, and just minutes from all the charms and attractions of historic Charleston. Only 11 blocks from all Folly's shops and restaurants.
