Cypress trees, rolling hills and village churches: the Tuscany of postcards and dreams (APT SIENA)A trip to the Crete Senesi has the flavour of a daydream with your feet placed firmly on the ground. The Crete Senesi is a voyage for the soul, an itinerary of discovery to be followed with the same spirit as the Grand Tour.
The area is not defined by piazzas, cathedrals or castles, but by nature, cypress trees, the smell of sheep’s-milk cheese pervading a little grocery, the relaxing warmth of spa waters, the mystical simplicity of a small Romanesque parish church.
The landscape of the Crete Senesi is a triumph of harmony, a timeless image, a picture that blends the forms of an Etruscan graffito and a sign of modern art. It is a harmony that gets inside you and has the power to bring your energies back into balance: emotions and sensations transform and dilate in the calm of space.
The Val d’Orcia is a treasure that offers natural beauty, iconic landscapes, charming historic hamlets and prized foods, such as fine red wines and truffe. It is one of our favorite regions in all of Tuscany because it has a bit of everything!
Situated in southern Tuscany, the Val d’Orcia offers postcard-perfect panoramas: soft hills that rise and fall as far as the eye can see, alternating colors of green fields, red terracotta rooftops and brown overturned clay depending on the season... don’t forget the majestic cypress trees! This is the landscape portrayed in paintings and postcards of Tuscany all over the world, a territory so precious that it is a UNESCO World Heritage.
Tuscan Monumental Moments

Tuscany is a dreamscape. We were told it was beautiful, seen the beauty in the movies… But we never expected it to be a complete redesign of our mental stage. Everything is made to last hundreds of years, a departure from our construction principles in the States. We found ourselves, on several occasions standing in a structure that was built before Columbus set sail. The hillsides are painted with an impossibly beautiful brush and dotted masterfully by trees running the tops of hills (something we would never do in the States), like thoughts that give rise to stunning stone “farmhouses” that would be mansions anywhere else. Amazed.
Tourism in the Italian countryside is different, more sustainable, because rich in biodiversity , the largest in Europe. Today specificity and peculiarities. It’s a tourism definitely original, that enriches the wonderful differences that offer the cultures of our countryside and of our territories. The farm is the antithesis, the opposite of mass tourism, all the same wherever you go. Encloses and enhances Italy increased and the "minor", always unique, full of flavor and unique knowledge, each of which contains the story of its territory and its traditions.
