Positive: I would recommend this unit if you plan to stay in Kihei. The host, Bob Martin, is very friendly and eager to be sure you enjoy your stay. The entry is easy with a code you will get before arrival. I believe the unit is a good value for this part of Maui. The photos are accurate, and you will have an ocean view. The A/C works well to cool the unit down in the late afternoon sun, and there are also ceiling fans. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, flatware, pots & pans, etc. with only a couple exceptions which I mentioned to Bob. There are places nearby for casual food like pizza or fish & chips, but no real ocean-front eateries except at some of the resort-hotels. The little store at the condo building next door is very handy for some of the basics (like paper towels), good sandwiches, cold drinks, ice cream.
Negative: One thing is inaccurate on the booking.com website. The unit does not have a washer and dryer, but there is a small laundry room. Most of the machines take quarters or credit cards. The thing we missed the most was a clothes-drying rack, and I already mentioned that to Bob. There was no place to hang wet swimsuits and such. This was my first time staying in Kihei. I know people who really love this area, but it isn't my favorite. That's just personal preference.
