Relax and enjoy this charming custom hideaway at the end of a private lane in serene Weston (minimum 2 acre zoning). The property features 387 feet of Saugatuck River frontage with a swimming hole, a rope swing, 3 kayaks and a rowboat leading down to a lagoon with waterfall. The cottage is set high above the river offering bucolic and unique views of the spectacular natural settings. Watch the mink play in the water every morning; a fox comes usually every day about 4pm; and there are a large number of majestic Herons living by the river. Watching the birds fly over the water at eye level is a unique view.
The cottage is 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. In addition a huge oversized sofas easily functions as an very comfy bunk of the beds are full and someone shouldn’t drive home. The house can easily sleep 8. There is also room for a blow up mattress for your shorter-term guests. At present, one of the rooms is set up as a music room with spectacular 1880's Parisian baby grand piano. The 2-step down sunken sunroom features a custom hidden 110" projection television with theater surround sound which retracts into the ceiling so as to not disturb the beautiful views. Comfortable and high end furniture and/or antiques and antique rugs throughout. 3 high-end bathrooms with all Waterworks fixtures and flooring and a magical outdoor shower with custom Sonoma Forge fixture. A tankless hot water system guarantees you never run out of hot water. The galley kitchen is equipped with SubZero, high output gas Viking stove and Waterworks fixtures. Large stone wood burning fireplace with firewood and starter logs provided. Main floor level laundry closet features a new LG washer & dryer, with the largest capacity available for noncommercial use. The basement features a simple home gym with squat rack, barbell, bench and various weights.
Professional bi-weekly cleaning by large crew so work is completed quickly. The property is professionally landscaped weekly. The grounds offer 4 terraces, numerous stone walls, 85 boxwood trees, woods and a large flat football field sized grass lawn. Enjoy nature while only being 2 miles from cute neighboring villages. Metro North train station is 7.5 miles away, a 15 minute drive, and only a 60min ride into Grand Central Terminal. Great hiking right from the front door of the house! Longer than 1 month rentals, or even a year, is available.
1 of the bedrooms is on the second level of the home with separate entrance, separate bathroom, the best in the house. This space is included in the rental. Use the upstairs as and office, a bedroom or yoga retrial. You get the whole house.
