Positive: This was my second time at Elham House. My room was small and basic but had all I needed for my stay and I already knew this. Plenty of bathrooms and toilets which are cleaned regularly. Lots of choice for breakfast although it was the same every day. The staff are friendly, approachable, helpful and work exceptionally hard. Peaceful, religious setting as long as there are no big groups staying. Lots of quiet places to find though if you wish to get away and contemplate. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Negative: Doors bang on closure so sleep can be disturbed by other guests. Parking is a bit hit and miss; you have to be lucky to find a spot in the square but there are other places to park. There is a pub close by and on nice evenings, noise can be heard in certain rooms at the front of the building. Only an hour's window for breakfast so it can be a bit rushed and can be noisy if there is a big group. However, none of these would put me off staying again.
