Relax and unwind from life’s chaos, that begins as you drive north on one of MN’s most scenic- Route 38. You’ll fall in love before you even arrive, driving thru Chippewa National Forest. The cabin is 4 hours north of the Twin Cities and 1.5 hours from Grand Rapids.
Enjoy nature at every angle here in Deer Acres! Located in Effie; 15 minutes down a windy, gravel road, you will find seven cabins nestled near the edge of the wilderness. The cabin is situated steps away from an 1,800 acre lake. Deer Lake is known for great fishing- especially walleye and northern. It is also a perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding- with its crystal clear water. You’ll paddle alongside loons, herons, beavers and otters. An eagle’s nest also resides directly across the bay.
Take in the serene lake views at dusk by the bonfire, which is feet from the shoreline. The night sky is lit by stars like you’ve never seen- no city lights in sight. You’re sure to see shooting stars and maybe even catch a view of the northern lights.
The cabin is a traditional log cabin. It can sleep 7 comfortably; has two bedrooms and one bathroom, with a shower/tub. The cabin has been updated with a modern touch and includes upgraded features. While being within nature takes top priority, amenities of being on vacation are included- such as WiFi and wall-mounted TVs. An Alexa for music is also provided. The kitchen is fully stocked. Life doesn’t begin until coffee...which includes three options for your morning fix: nespresso, french press and your traditional drip coffee. The added ambiance includes a wood burning stove to settle in at night. There’s even a s’mores pot that sits on the dining table- that will be a sure hit with the kids!
There is a large deck to enjoy your morning coffee lakeside to take in the sunrise (sitting in the perfect direction for a breathtaking one every time) or to watch the kids play feet away on the sand beach. A gas grill and smoker is provided.
