Downtown Suite, a modern home in the heart of Arcata’s Northtown. A stay in this bright and clean space puts you right in the middle of all that Humboldt has to offer. The Downtown Suite is centrally located within walking distance to Arcata’s restaurants, events, and nightlife. Just a few blocks away are Cal Poly Humboldt, the Crabs ballpark, the lush Arcata Community Forest, and the Plaza where farmers markets and community festivals take place. For those in search of nature, a 45-minute drive in any direction takes you to rugged and scenic beaches, famed national and state parks, and pristine riverscapes.
The Space
The Downtown Suite is the perfect home away from home, with every convenience included. It has two bedrooms outfitted with plush queen beds, one featuring an en suite full bath, and the other with a full bathroom just outside the bedroom door. A washer and dryer are included as well, perfect for extended stays or cleaning clothes after a day of adventure. Arcata has a plethora of delicious restaurants close by, but for travelers wanting to cook at home, the kitchen is fully equipped for your convenience – with stainless steel appliances including the fridge, stove, and microwave, and an automatic drip coffee maker and a French press to get you going in the mornings. A dining nook and breakfast bar provide seating for enjoying homecooked meals or takeout.
The living space has plenty of room to sit and relax, with a sectional couch covered in fluffy throw pillows, a table, and round chairs. A 70” smart TV is included with Netflix, Disney+, and Wi-Fi throughout. Outside is a private sitting area with plants and patio lights to take a breather and enjoy the refreshing and temperate Humboldt air.
Please note that the Downtown Suite is the entire bottom floor of our Endless Summer Suites building, with private entry through the front door. A separate suite is located upstairs with its own entrance in the rear of the property. If guests are booked upstairs, there is a chance you may hear them there – as such, we’ve provided tranquil and soothing sound machines in each of the bedrooms to let you sleep undisturbed.
Getting Around & Things to Do
Street parking is available during the weekends directly in front of the property and surrounding streets. During the week from 10am to 5pm, parking on the street in front of the property is limited to 4 hours.
The Downtown Suite is located 10 minutes from the Arcata-Eureka/Humboldt County Airport. Arcata is a walking-friendly town, but for travelers looking to venture outside of Arcata for work or play, a vehicle is most convenient. For traveling healthcare professionals, Mad River Community Hospital is a 5-minute drive, and St. Joe’s is 20 minutes away.
Nearby are Wildberries Market for your grocery needs and Northtown Coffee for drinks and breakfast to get you going for the day. Wildflower and Café Phoenix are delicious options are vegan, vegetarian, local, and sustainable fare. For late night deliciousness, Arcata Pizza and Deli, Don’s Donuts, The Pub, and Mazzotti’s are open until midnight or later.
Sue-Meg State Park – located 20 minutes north, has forest and ocean vistas, hiking, and native-run interpretive trails featuring a traditional Yurok village dwelling. Wedding Rock and Agate Beach are popular stops at this park.
Redwood National and State Parks/Prairie Creek State Park – located 40 minutes north of the suite are stunning and ancient redwood giants. Famed Fern Canyon and Gold Bluffs Beach (advance permit required through the Parks Service) are sought-after destinations from travelers all over the world. Visit the big named trees – like Corkscrew Tree and Big Tree – as you walk among the old growth. Ladybird Johnson and Redwood Creek trails are great for beginners.
Trees of Mystery – located an hour north in Klamath, just past the Humboldt County line, is a favorite spot for kids on the north coast. An amusement park of sorts with giant redwoods, a native museum, treetop gondolas to ride in, and a skywalk to get up close and personal with the redwood canopy.
Avenue of the Giants – located 55 minutes to the south, is a world-famous stretch of highway winding along the Eel River with old growth redwoods throughout. This avenue is a tree-lover’s dream, boasting the world record for forested standing biomass, pristine cerulean swimming holes, and more trails than you could explore in a lifetime.
