17th and in parts 18th Century farmhouse situated on a plateau above Cotignac with glorious views of the St Joseph monastery and the Besillon mountain. The main house consists of 5 bedrooms. Master bedroom with an en-suite shower room and a small dressing area with built-in cupboards. There are a further three Twin / double bedrooms. There are a further two bedrooms, one double and one twin, in the potteries, which is a self contained building across the main terrace from the main house . These two bedrooms share an interconnecting bathroom. A further large double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom is situated in another building across the inner courtyard from the main house. There is also a smaller bedroom with a small double bed. The Courtyard rooms are perfect for a family with 1 or 2 children. The main house has a small sitting / television room with an apple TV and a Wii game. Next door is a small library with a door leading to the south walled garden There is a large country kitchen with antique wooden table which can seat up to 12 people. The kitchen leads onto the main easterly facing terrace with a large stone outdoor table which can seat 14. There is a large drawing room with a big open fireplace which leads onto a westerly facing terrace and the boules pitch. Near the potteries bedroom is a large playroom with numerous toys and games leading on to the main terrace,, laundry room and inner courtyard. There is air-con in the drawing room and the pottery bedrooms. The swimming pool is situated a small distance from the house in a lush garden surrounded by lawn. there is a large pool-house with comfortable seating area which opens up onto the pool terrace. There is a sauna chill-out zone with a sauna which can accommodate up to 8 people. The pool-house also has a loo and an outdoor shower nestled amongst bamboo plants. The swimming pool can be heated on request and the cover ensures the pool keeps in the heat as well as ensuring full safety for small children. Cotignac and the surrounding area is beautiful and a bit of a secret undiscovered gem of an area with rolling hills, vineyards and olive groves with pretty provencal villages dotted around the countryside. Wonderful local markets, wine, and plenty of activities to do all year around. The nearest beaches are 45 - 50 mins drive and 1hr to some of the nicest beaches on the Cote d'Azur (St Tropez, Grimaud for ex.). The Lac Ste Croix is a 30 mins drive where there is kayaking, sailing, paddle boarding and plenty of other water sports available plus swimming in the beautiful clear blue fresh water. At the western end of the lake there is a fantastic prehistoric museum. At the other end of the lake are the 'Gorges du Verdon', France's very own Grand Canyon, and the stunning village of Moustier Ste Marie. Lots of great rock climbing, abseiling, canyoning and hikes or rent a pedalo or kayak and explore the gorges by boat. Less than 10 minutes drive form the house are also the beautiful Sillans la Cascade waterfalls. Cotignac also has its own smaller waterfall and has a great selection of restaurants, bars and shops. There are also several other local villages with great places to eat in the surrounding area. Straight out of the domaine's driveway, there are endless dirt tracks and paths to explore on foot or by mountain bike. The area is lush and the valley below Cotignac is surrounded by vines and olive groves. The local region produces numerous good rosé wines and wine tasting is available in many of the local vineyards.
