Julie was an excellent host for our family gathering in Bonclarken. There were many shady, well marked roads and paths to walk and enjoy the peaceful surroundings with dense, green vegetation and mature trees.
We enjoyed access to the paddle boats on Bonclarken lake. The lake is small but very pretty with a fountain at one end, a 1/2 mile walking path around it with a large gazebo and a covered picnic area with water and clean restrooms.
The boats are kept locked, but friendly life guards were available to provide flotation devices and supervise our outing on the water.
If you bring dogs, be sure to bring some poop bags.We had a lovely break from the summer heat in this picturesque community. Ask about the lake/pool schedule and be sure to check the pool rules (conservative swimwear only, no bikinis). There’s a frisbee golf course, volleyball net (bring your own ball), and a couple of playgrounds. It was a fun place to explore and very family friendly.
