3 Bedroom House in Saint-Pompont
La Grange, originally an agricultural barn, has been tastefully converted and retains many original timbers, it has an open plan ground floor with well equipped kitchen, utility room and shower/WC, a lounge area with stone fireplace and wood-burning stove and double height dining area in between with wooden staircase leading to galleried landings on either side.
There is a super king master bedroom and family bathroom on one side and to the other side there is a double bedded room with a small child’s bed and third bedroom with 2 full sized single beds, which can be joined together to make a super king. There is also a cot and smaller travel cot plus two high chairs and stair gate available.
The dining area has two steps down to the lounge. There is an outside door from the lounge to a private shaded terrace with outdoor furniture, loungers and barbecue. There are some toys for young children, table tennis, boules and a swing and slide in the enclosed private garden with a tree bench alongside, which is also adjacent to the separately enclosed private heated 6m x 4m pool.
Any well behaved pet is welcome at an additional charge of 50 euro, dogs please to be kept on a lead when not in the La Grange garden.

Poncet is a tiny hamlet 3 km from the medieval village of St.Pompon which is in the heart of the Perigord Noir between the Dordogne and the Lot river valleys. The village offers a mini supermarket, bakers, pharmacy, PO and 3 restaurants. It has a morning market on Fridays and in the height of the summer a night food market on Saturdays where you can buy and eat various dishes and local wines.
Within a 30min drive are many of the beautiful villages of the Dordogne including Domme, Beynac, Castelnaud and La Roque Gageac along with the picturesque towns of Monpazier, Sarlat la Caneda, Belves and Gourdon. Cahors and Bergerac are just a little further away. The region offers a wealth of activities, touristic sites and chateau to suit every taste, gourmet restaurants, wine tasting, walking, cycling, canoeing and hot air ballooning to mention just a few!
The property is an 8 to 9 hour drive from Calais, (French roads are generally considerably quieter than in the UK!) or just an hour from either Bergerac or Brive airports from where you can hire a car. Toulouse, Bordeaux or Limoges airports are a little over 2 hrs away.
Letting rates are dependent upon the time of year, with electricity charged as an extra in the low seasons (typically £600-1800 per week). Bedding and towels are available as an option at 20 euro per person per letting and final cleaning at 90 euro.
