DETAILS: Rendezvous Cove is a beautiful 5-bedroom, 6-bathroom lakefront home in Destin that sleeps 16. Its plantation shutters, palm tree-filled yard, water views, and screened heated swimming pool are a Florida dream.
Guests will enjoy the high ceilings and spacious feel of the open kitchen, dining, and living space. Premium appliances, a wrap-around kitchen counter with seating for 4, and a separate wet bar allow ample room to prepare meals. A dining table with seating for 8 and a comfortable living area with leather sofas both enjoy views of the swimming pool and lake through sliding glass doors. A fully screened enclosure wraps around the outdoor patio, keeping all those pesky mosquitos at bay. Summary: We enjoyed the spacious, very clean house and the view of the lake (this is not a swimming lake). The location is a 5-minute golf cart ride to the beach and a couple of restaurants. The beds were comfortable, the patio and balcony had a nice view, plenty of room to spread out, and a large kitchen. 5 bikes and a golf cart were a hit for the family. The frogs sang us to sleep (ok, I turned on the home fan to drown them out haha). Plenty of blankets, pillows, and bath towels. A few annoyances - no beach towels or beach supplies (boogie boards, chairs, wagon), no food items in the kitchen (coffee, tea, salt and pepper only, but no spices, oil, mustard). This may be because it is run by a company vs a host. I personally like having a host to talk to, as it feels more personable. But 360 Blue answered our questions during work hours. If you use the golf cart or the bikes plan on taking time to fill out an extensive liability contract. Even if you don't use the bikes or golf cart they are a large part of the fee. Overall we had a wonderful time. The house is located in a community that is probably 1/2 rental properties so there are parties happening around the house. The area feels very safe for walking on the trail or biking around.
