Positive: My impression of this hotel is somehow ambivalent. I would like to start with the positive. The hotel room is great. Very spacious and quiet. Tastefully and functionally furnished. The bed is a dream. The hotel complex really is - as the name suggests - like a jungle. It is an oasis in the city of Puerto Princesa, and the peaceful and quiet atmosphere lets you unwind. The staff is always helpful and very friendly. It is also fair to mention that this hotel is a bit far from the center. However, that can be an advantage since it is also far from all the noisy entertainment places. In addition, there are tricycles available in front of the gate, almost 24 hours a day, that can take you nearly anywhere at a fair price. Last but not least, there is also a sari sari store where you can buy basic needs. And the beach is not far either. It is also the hotel with the largest keychain I have ever seen. You can easily use it as a serving tray :-)
Negative: As I mentioned already, the room is really great. But every time we stepped outside, we were reminded that this hotel looks like a bit abandoned. The restaurant is closed for good. Only the completely barred bar by the pool seems still to be in operation. Speaking of the pool… the water looks clean at first, but it is full of human waste such as hair and dandruff. Even though the staff is cleaning the water and removing the leaves, maybe changing the water sometimes may be an idea. But am not a pool expert. Unfortunately it is also not true that the wifi works everywhere. In our room, there was zero connection and we had to buy data load for our mobile phones.
