The town of Agios Nikolaos, the capital of Lasithi, is a short 10-minute drive from the villa. There you can head to the main harbour and Voulismeni Lake, where you’ll find restaurants, shops and cafés lining the waterfront. You can pick up souvenirs or try local cuisine such as fresh seafood.
There’s a private beach a stone’s throw from the villa but you can also discover more sandy stretches of coast in the area. In Agios Nikolaos, Ammos Beach and Kytroplatia Beach are popular choices with clear, calm waters that are ideal for swimming and snorkelling, and they’re close to all the amenities of the town.
There’s also Ammoudi with a longer stretch of coastline, Almyros Beach which is set in a sheltered cove or Havania Beach on the northern outskirts of the town.
