THE SPACE Cranberry Pond is a cozy bungalow cabin with plenty of space to unwind and escape with family and friends, indoors and out. The house is located on ten private acres, with sprawling meadows surrounded by wildflowers and gorgeous views of the pond. Meander down the quiet private roads or explore nearby hikes, roast marshmallows around the cast iron outdoor fire pit, gaze at the star filled sky, or just enjoy the fresh air. The light-filled home has an abundance of windows in every room, bringing the beauty of the outdoors in. The living area has a vintage wood-burning fireplace for chilly nights, and a large dining table for entertaining ten guests, with sliding glass doors that lead to the expansive outdoor deck and views of Cranberry Pond. The newly remodeled kitchen has its own views and access to the deck and features a Bertazzoni stove, brand new appliances, and is stocked with everything a modern chef could need. There are three bedrooms in the house, two with queen beds and one with a full bed, each with its own private entrance where you can access the patio and deck that wrap around the entirety of the property. Just steps from the house is a separate guest cabin with a queen bed and desk. A featured StayFloyd property, the bedrooms are outfitted with Floyd beds, luxurious linens made by the manufacturers of Frette, along with custom colorful Maharam textiles. The master bedroom features an ensuite bathroom with shower, while the other bedrooms utilize the main bathroom with tub or the outdoor shower. Ultra plush towels and bath amenities by Public Goods are provided so you can relax at ease. FAMILY FRIENDLY We know what it’s like to travel with kids, so we want to make it that much easier for you by providing all the “stuff”. The house has room darkening blinds in all of the bedrooms, two Bjorn travel cribs and bedding, dresser with portable changing pad, diaper pail, baby monitor, sound machine, baby bath, high chair, booster seat, bibs, kids plates, sippy cups, hiking carrier, plus a few books and toys. There's lots of space to run around outdoors and also a great playground a few minutes away in Livingston Manor. We also welcome your well-behaved pets with prior approval and a $50 fee per pet per stay. THE AREA Cranberry Pond, located in the heart of the Catskills, is just outside the hamlet of Livingston Manor. This quaint walkable town has lots of explore-worthy stores and restaurants. Grab a sandwich and local groceries at Main Street Farm, enjoy wood-fired pizza outdoors at The Kaatskeller, pick up some local wines at Upstream, or shop the farmers market. Try fly fishing on Willowemoc Creek, golf nearby at Sullivan Country Country Club, horseback ride at Bridle Hill Farm, visit the alpacas at Buck Brook Farm, or explore the various hikes around the Catskills. We have a local guide we share with all our guests to help you get the most of your stay at Cranberry Pond. GETTING AROUND Cranberry Pond is less than two hours from New York City, and while you'll definitely want a car to get there and around the area, there is also a Short Line bus to the city from Monticello, about 20 minutes away. In the winter, we recommend a car with four-wheel drive that can handle the snow and gravel roads. AMENITIES We’ve carefully considered every detail so you can unwind and escape. Cooking The newly renovated kitchen features a Bertazzoni stove, new stainless steel refrigerator and dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, French press, coffee grinder, toaster, and blender. We also provide fresh coffee beans, olive oil, vinegar, condiments and spices. We keep a detailed pantry list so just ask us if you need anything! We also have concierge services available (for a fee) if would like to arrange for a grocery shop prior to your arrival, or anything else for that matter. Bedrooms A featured StayFloyd property, the bedrooms are outfitted with Floyd beds, Italic luxurious linens made by the manufacturers of Frette, along with ultra plush towels. Toiletries The house features a full suite of Public Goods products (Shampoo, Condition, and Body Wash), Marvis toothpaste, and extra toothbrushes, just in case. We also have a brand new washer and dryer along with laundry detergent for you to use. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE The property does not have a television, but we do have bluetooth speakers, backgammon, chess, and an assortment of other games for you to enjoy. There is good cell reception in the house and satellite Wifi, which won’t be as fast as cable internet, but should definitely be good enough for most everyday uses, including video calls, web browsing, and email. If you want to watch anything on your iPad or computer, we recommend downloading any content prior to your arrival rather than streaming. Or think of this as a good excuse to unplug and unwind. All rooms in the house feature built-in electric heaters, plus the wood-burning stove in the living room, to keep you warm during the colder months. The guest cabin is insulated and has a space heater, but might get too chilly for sleeping in the heart of winter.
