Cozy cottage in the forest. Ideal for nature-lovers, stunning view of the Aegean | House in Kalergo

2 Bedroom House in Karystos, Kalergo
The southern part of Evia island is truly a magical place. Combining the forests and ravines of its mountainous landscape with the Mediterranean feel of its Aegean washed beaches, a unique combination is born.
Located in the heart of this combination is our reclusive off the track, family-owned homestead with its cozy cottages. Based in the start of a NATURA 2000 protected forest, it boasts vibrant warm days and star-studded nights cooled by the summer breeze.
It's in the middle of two villages, Agios Dimitrios and Kallianos, each one sporting Greek taverns and mini markets for all basic needs. In a 10 minute drive, outside both villages, at the end of famous gorges, exist 2 stunning crystal water beaches, named after the villages.
The cottage is located in the elevated part of the estate. It is a mini 3-room complex, consisting of 1 spacious bedroom, the kitchen and the bathroom. The bedroom has a queen sized bed and, if needed, 2 additional twin sized camp beds. The kitchen is equipped with all needed appliances and a washing machine. It has a porch with a view of the Aegean. There's an additional smaller 1-room cottage in close distance, with a king sized bed. For an additional daily fee, it can be used to accommodate 2 more people. Sheets and towels are provided, room service/cleaning is NOT.
Also available in the homestead are a communal DIY pool, used by us also, and a DIY basketball court.
The homestead in its entirety is about 4,000 sqr. metres or about 1/4 acres. It is powered mostly by solar power and water is supplied from a spring close-by. It is owned and solely managed by us, a married couple, who built it from the ground up. When the cottage is rented we will be residing in lower half of the estate, in our house, along with our 2 dogs. If you need anything at all or have any questions, feel free to ask. Everyone is welcomed and if you don't want to be left alone come over for some chatter.
The surrounding area and especially the gorges, are ideal for nature exploration and hiking. Specifically, in Demosaris gorge, above Lenoseos village, in a 30-minute relaxed hike, exist some gorgeous waterfalls. For us, it's an absolute must to visit them. If you want any tips as where to go, again, don't be afraid to ask.
If you're looking for a family vacation, a romantic time or an outing filled with nature and exploration, this is for you.
If you want a better feel of the area, search about it.
Keep in mind:
This booking is BEST suited for nature-lovers.
The cottages are in the base of a forest, so expect any animal that naturally resides there.
Dogs are of course allowed.
The Aegean sea can be windy sometimes, and waves come about. In that case, we recommend the pool.
Food service is not provided, you'll have to do your own cooking. The villages have taverns and mini markets. If you need a lot of supplies, there's Marmari and Karystos, major towns in a 45-60 min. drives. You'll probably pass Marmari on the way here, we suggest you do your shopping there.
The water is drinkable, but bottled water is preferred and encouraged.
In case of emergency there's a hospital at Karystos and we'll provide some basic supplies.
