It is located on the Wild Atlantic Way with views for miles of this magnificent coastline. Built on a half acre elevated site, Creig Cottage is your home for the week in the heart of the limestone Burren. This is an National Park which is known for it outstanding natural beauty as well as its unique flora and fauna. Staying here in it naturally quiet setting with a view of the ocean during the day and stars for miles at night is bound to put you at ease. The cottage is on The Burren Walking Tour, an ideal base for walking and touring through spectacular scenery. Wild goats, badgers, foxes, birds and unique flowers can be seen on this unspoiled barren land. A fascinating area for all Botanists, Ornithologists and Geologists. Yet we are just three miles from Doolin, which is famous for its nightly traditional music so you do not have to venture far for a lively night out. In the area also there are many fine restaurants including Michelin award restaurants, seafood places and many more. Some of Ireland's most famous attractions are all only a short drive away - Ailwee Cave, Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands. From Doolin you can take the ferry across to the Aran Islands or do one of the Cliffs of Moher cruises. If you wish to explore further there are attractions like Dromoland Castle, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Loop Head Lighthouse, and the cities of Galway and Limerick. It is also easy to take a day trip to Connemara, Kerry, or Ashford Castle from this location. As we are located on the coast we are near beautiful `Blue Flag` sandy beaches of Fanore and Lahinch. Fanore is a less visited beach with things like Surfing and horse riding available to do there. Lahinch is a busy seaside town with amenities such as a swimming pool, playground and championship golf course. Lisdoonvarna, or the "spa town", is ten minutes from the house and is noted for its sulphur water, and for its `match making festival` in September. Miltown-Malbay hosts the Willie Clancy summer school every July, learn to play a traditional instrument or Irish set-dancing.
