The owner of this property wants to point out that leaving a minimum three day gap between lettings is, in their opinion, the safest way of preventing the spread of the COVID19 virus (scientific evidence suggests the virus can remain active on some surfaces for up to 72 hours) This cosy cottage sleeps 2 and is tucked away yet convenient for 3 pubs,a deli, a village shop and glorious walks around the coast, a real gem! The three newly built Crescent Yard Cottages have every modern comfort while retaining the country cottage appeal. These superb holiday homes are ideally situated in the heart of the village yet off the beaten track, with no through traffic. The private courtyard allows easy parking. Coastal footpaths to local beaches are just paces away and a bus service along the esplanade links Woolacombe and Mortehoe Village; meaning everyone can enjoy the Hot Spots as well as the High Spots. For a walk on the wild side take the path to Morte Point. With the wind in your hair and seals in the sea below, it is breath taking. On your return it will be hard to resist calling into one of the pubs - each offering delicious local produce. Alternatively Rockham Bay with its tales of smugglers and shipwrecks, has rocks to climb, pools to explore and a sandy beach for swimming. There are valleys to enjoy and a lighthouse, however, if you prefer a gentle stroll around the village the Mortehoe Museum is a good place to start. The historic Church, tearooms, gift shops, Post Office and general store add much to the community spirit of Mortehoe: one that you become part of as soon as you arrive. 2 CRESCENT YARD (sleeps 2) is in the middle and is the smallest of the three cottages with parking for one car. It is ideally suited for touring, available all year round and proving popular with returning clients. The ground floor is open plan but with a country cottage appeal. The kitchen area is separated from the lounge by a breakfast bar with two high stools. Kitchen units house a refrigerator with small freezer compartment, washer/dryer, full sized electric oven, hob and microwave. The lounge area has a two-seater sofa, matching armchair, coffee tables, TV/DVD, lamps, puzzles and games, as well as a large bookcase with plenty of books for sharing or swapping. A glass sliding door leads to a raised patio area with uninterrupted views over National Trust grazing land. There is a table and two chairs for you to relax and read the morning's papers before heading out for the day. Upstairs the bedroom has en suite with shower, double bed, wardrobe, cupboards, chest of drawers, and small TV. There are two chairs and a low table by a window offering views of the surrounding countryside. Even though this cottage has a very well equipped kitchen which allows for full self-catering, we think it is still worth mentioning that in addition to the Village's three pubs and restaurants, during the season there is an amazing takeaway offering mouth-watering home cooked country specialities. Take a stroll and check it out. The owner regrets the cottage is not suitable for babies over six months or toddlers.
