'Carapace' is the perfect Old Florida beachfront cottage with white sandy beach right on the gorgeous blue-green waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Carapace offers expansive beachfront gulf views from living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom and sun deck. Great place to enjoy unspoiled beaches and gulf breezes. Take a short stroll down the uncrowded beach or sit at water's edge. It's 'Old Florida' the way it should be - a beautiful natural setting unblemished by crowds and high-rise development. Just take a deep breath and reeelaaax.
The natural environment here supports many plant and animal species you will enjoy seeing - blue,fiddler, and hermit crabs; many fish, dolphins, sea turtles, tarpon, manatee, eagles, osprey, and many other sea birds-snowy plovers, least terns. Eco-tours are available on the island for guided sight-seeing, if you like. Or you can strike out on your own for a private adventure.
Watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the deck. As darkness falls, you are treated to a magnificent display of starry constellations without the distraction of bright city lights. Many nights you can see the lights from local shrimp boats on the horizon.

Great floor plan: Open living area and master bedroom open to beachside sun deck, covered parking, hot-and-cold outdoor shower, large picnic table and park style charcoal grill for family cookouts.
3 Br, 2ba with one king bed in MR w/ private bath, one double bed, two twins-these 2 bedrooms open onto central hall with shared bath - linens provided. Ideal for 2 - 6 guests. 3 TVs, 1 Blu-Ray player, CD player, WiFi, and free long distance phone calls (in USA). Equipped kitchen, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, initial stock of paper products provided. Sorry, we do not provide beach gear other than what items are stored inside the laundry room down below. This is based on the honor system and is a compilation of items left behind from previous guests - please wash and put back for the next guests use. If an item is deemed not useable please contact us or sit it to the side and we will remove it.
Pets are not allowed. Smoking is not allowed at Carapace.
This is a family oriented destination. No vacationing students or young adults (<25yo) unaccompanied by a responsible parent or guardian. Carapace is not available for weddings or parties.
**We have a NO REFUND policy. Please make sure to purchase travel insurance with trip interruption coverage in the case of a need for cancellation.
