We consistently book to 100% occupancy for the high season, with a large percentage of repeat guests all year long. Quiet Hours are 10PM to 7AM- to be observed by all guests. The Maximum # of guests allowed is 4. The Maximum number of vehicles allowed is 2. No outdoor amplified sound is allowed. *********** The solar heated pool is open year-round. (During the Winter, the pool is cold, but quite enjoyable if you'd like to take a plunge after the sauna or spa- both of which are a few short steps away from the pool). We have guests that book with us to do just that! It is all together beautiful, luxurious and intimate. The Love Nest sleeps 2 Adults in a TEMPUR-PEDIC 'Cashmere' California King bed with UPSCALE linens, and will accommodate 2 more adult guests in super-comfy twin beds in the "tree house"- a small, cozy, heated room just 10 steps from the main cabin. Our goal was to retain the charm of the home while COMPLETELY rebuilding every aspect of it's infrastructure. We installed all new windows, glass doors, appliances, electrical system, plumbing system and a radiant-heated Chinese slate floor-(Floors are heated during Winter). Every room in the cabin has this slate floor, which is of many hues and a fascinating pattern. The gourmet kitchen features new upscale stainless appliances, all granite countertops, and gorgeous blue cabinets that were custom fitted by a local craftsman. You'll also have a nice Wolf stove with 4 burners and a big griddle for those mornings when you want to cook your own breakfast. The Bathroom features a huge curved walk-in glass block shower built for two. There's a big skylight above, and a copper shower head from above. The bath also features a beautiful polished concrete vanity that was crafted by a local artist. You'll have a 7.1 Yamaha/Denon/Klipsch/Velodyne sound system in the living room that is a real treat. There are built-in high-end Klipsch speakers all around the room. You will also enjoy an HD 8' diameter screen and a ceiling-mounted Sony HD projector. The combination of the screen and the sound system creates an absolutely terrific movie or sports viewing experience! In the bedroom you'll have a wall-mounted HD 55' LED flat screen and a built-in Bose sound system. There is one more HD flat screen in the living room near the fireplace that's perfect to cuddle up in the afternoon on the cozy love seat to watch the fire and some TV. There's also a gorgeous new Yamaha Disclavier PLAYER piano for you to enjoy. High-speed wireless internet service and complimentary long-distance telephone service within the United States are provided. If you like to be super-cozy, you will love the heated slate floors during the Winter. Fireplaces in both the living room and bedroom top it all off. The living room fireplace will be loaded and ready for you to strike a match and have a romantic fire for your first night's stay! And……..firewood is always provided! You'll have a generous amount of Keurig K Cups and a Keurig coffee maker. When you arrive, you will find some essentials have been supplied- Half and Half in the fridge along with some farm-fresh eggs and some O.J. Or- why not take a walk to nearby Occidental and have breakfast at Howard Station- a historic establishment with great breakfasts. The outside of the Love Nest really fun, too! THE SPA- called the 'Serena Bay'- It's BIG. It's a wonderful experience to gaze at the stars while soaking in this special spa. It's filled with sparkling fresh spring water from our own spring. The POOL...… It's GORGEOUS, and solar heated during the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons. The adjacent lanai has a bar crafted from an ancient slab of reclaimed redwood that was harvested right off the property over 125 years ago. The pool is surrounded by a redwood deck. It's fun to hang out in the expansive open-air 'surf shack' themed lanai by the pool in any kind of weather. There is a stainless gas barbecue that's always ready for grilling the dinner of your choice. On the patio you'll also find a charming fire pit for those starry evenings- making good conversation and s'mores. It is always stocked with firewood for you- just light a match and enjoy! The outdoor sauna- made of all clear cedar wood, and shaped like a wine barrel. It's located just a few steps outside of the Love Nest's door. It's really a treat! Sun? Lots of it! The Love Nest is located in a redwood forest, yet you'll enjoy a VERY sunny spot. You can gaze across the valley and you'll see that the Love Nest is actually located higher than many of the 100' tree tops in the canyon. Occasionally you can spot a Bald Eagle soaring high above, or the Red Tail Hawk mating pair that lives nearby. If you are an outdoor adventurer you are going to love this place. You will be close to exciting open-air activities. Sonoma Canopy Tours will have you zip-lining over the Redwoods and taking in the very best view of the valley. Be sure to investigate the spectacular sky bridges and the 30 foot spiral staircase along the way. It is a riveting, astounding, and awe-inspiring journey that is sure to leave you with lifelong memories. Get Ready To Explore And Restore............ If laid back style is more your thing or if you have had enough of an adrenaline rush for one day then it is a good idea to head into town. There you will find fantastic restaurants like the one at the Union Hotel which has unbeatable food and hospitality. If you like brew pubs, stop in at BARLEY AND HOPS for a great selection of beers on tap, live music and EXCELLENT food.There is also plenty of local artwork to check out and several quaint gift shops to explore before wandering back to the Love Nest for a much deserved respite. We are on the grid, but our 10 KV Solar System provides for most of our electrical needs- We sell excess electricity back to the utility company during the Summer time.
