Positive: What a splendid place to escape from the stress of modern life and such a genial host! Yes it's an old fortified chateau gentrified in the 19th century that shows it's age. But our room was clean, spacious and full of appropriate furniture and ornaments/paintings etc. The bed was the most comfortable that we have slept in apart from our home for many years. A substantial breakfast with local produce and as much coffee as we wanted. In a breakfast/dining room totally in keeping with the style exhibited throughout. The gardens are a treasure trove of mature trees and leisurely paths to explore. We do not pass this way very often but would not hesitate to return. Don't expect to stay in a modernised renovated period house. It's not, but if you relax and appreciate the ambiance you will not go far wrong.
Negative: Nothing. We did not go out to eat which might have entailed a bit of a drive but in good weather there are numerous places to eat in the park/garden if you bring your own feast!
