This family cottage is nothing short of AWESOME. The interior of the property has been lovingly renovated to provide guests with the opportunity to make many memories in a rustic log cabin with modern conveniences.
The cottage is elevated and perched proudly to take advantage of the expansive lake views. If you are looking for privacy, tranquility & relaxation, look no further than this Muskoka-like setting!
Boasting hardwood and slate flooring throughout, our 3 bedroom, plus loft sanctuary comfortably sleeps 10. (All linens & towels are provided). The cottage features an open plan living area with cathedral ceilings and double-height windows – the interior is flooded with natural daylight to make for a light, easy & breezy stay.
The gourmet kitchen comes fully equipped with all of the small & large appliances & utensils needed to create a delicious meal to share with family and friends. Basic spices, olive oil, tea & coffee are provided. The dining area easily accommodates big family meals.
There is one full bathroom, one powder room and washer and dryer on the main floor.
The screened-in porch acts as the perfect rustic escape from those super warm summer days, or as an evening retreat for after a great meal!
Our expansive deck can be enjoyed all day long with beautiful lounging & dining furniture, and propane BBQ with views that are second to none!
Kabakwa Lake is a private landlocked lake for tranquility and exploring crystal clear water for swimming, fishing, and relaxing. Walk down the enchanting path with granite steps to the beautifully natural and rugged shoreline. There is a deck and chairs for you to relax and read a good book, or enjoy water activities. There are 3 kayaks, a paddleboard, canoe, lots of water flotation devices, and lifejackets for you to use.
The cottage is located close to the Muskokas, centrally located between Haliburton, Dorset and Minden. The cottage is within driving distance to the 80,000 acre Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve with its groomed hiking and biking trails and world-famous Wolf Observatory. This area is known for its rugged landscape, natural splendour, windswept pines, rocky shores, clear and calm freshwater lakes and abundant wildlife. This gem of a cabin is the perfect place to have that Canadian cottaging experience. This cabin is located on a land locked lake. There is NO access to public boat launches on this lake.
This listing is in a natural area, where wildlife is present. Field mice are common and attracted to any food left out, and can scurry in unnoticed when the door is left open. We advise to not book here if possibly seeing a mouse will cause you distress.
