We are new to VRBO/Home Away, and haven't received many reviews yet. We have had a ton on Air BNB, though. Simply search for the title of our property and it will show right up. We look forward to hosting you! Welcome to Rumi's Nest! A beautiful and cozy "rustic chic" home bathed in sunlight and nestled among the oak and fir trees. Full kitchen, full bathroom, loft bedroom, spacious front deck and back patio. Enjoy a morning coffee or evening meal on the deck, basking in the lovely wine country views, and calming sounds of the creek. This cottage is located at the top of our 11 acre wine country property. With countless activities nearby including wine tasting, world-class restaurants, hiking, biking, and kayaking adventures... no wonder why Sonoma and Napa Counties are so popular! House manual · Be aware of the high risk of fire. Please NO open flames. Please ask before using the fire pit. · We strive to keep this land drug and smoke-free. · IF YOU PUT PAPER IN THE TOILET, IT WILL LIKELY CLOG. The Septic System is old but works well. Each toilet has a lined receptacle for all non-bodily waste. Please use them, and please only flush organic waste. · Stay on the paths to avoid contact with poison oak. · Your Cottage is here in the natural world - please familiarize yourself with the natural hazards that exist here - read the relevant page in the book in your Cottage for this. · The water in the river isn't deep: please don't dive in. · Please ask if you need anything. Don't stay uncomfortable here. Your Lock-box code is 1030. There are two keys in there for you. We suggest taking one key with you, and leaving a spare in the Lock-box in case of accidentally misplacing your key. In the event that a key is misplace, please send me a message so I know. Your cottage is located on our 11 acre rural property in the heart of Sonoma County wine country, in the Alexander Valley, 12 miles from Healdsburg, Calistoga and Windsor. Traveling from San Francisco: Coming north on Highway 101, pass through Santa Rosa, and look for the Shiloh Road exit. Exit to the right onto Shiloh Road, and drive to the second stoplight, which is Old Redwood Highway. Take a left onto Old Redwood Hwy, and drive about 1 mile north to Pleasant Avenue. Turn right onto Pleasant and drive 3/4 mile to Chalk Hill Road. Take the left onto Chalk Hill and drive 8 miles until it dead ends onto Highway 128. Take a right, and drive 1.5 miles (mile marker 16.7), while looking for a large black wrought iron gate with the number "11640" on it, and a long reddish-colored bridge over the creek. The bridge will be on your right, just after a bend in the road. ***Enter and cross the bridge CAREFULLY (it is narrow!)*** Since the turnoff is somewhat of a blind corner on Hwy 128, for your safety it is a good idea to drive past our bridge for another 1/2 mile, where there is a large turnaround on the right hand side of the road. Then drive back and make the safer and easier left hand turn onto the bridge. Once over the bridge, drive past the large building on the left and continue up the hill. Follow signs for Rumi's Nest and park in the designated spot out front. Traveling from the East Bay: Take Interstate 80 toward Sacramento. Exit at Hwy 37/Marine World Parkway/Napa. Follow to Highway 29 toward Napa. Stay on Hwy. 29 North - it turns into Hwy. 128. Stay on Highway 128 past the town of Calistoga. Drive 11 miles past the turnoff to Calistoga. The property is on the left in the center of a left curve (mile marker 16.7). Look for a large black wrought iron gate with a sign that says "LEAPNOW" and a long reddish-colored bridge over the creek. ***Enter and cross the bridge CAREFULLY (it is narrow!)*** Drive past the large building on the left and continue up the hill. Follow signs for Rumi's Nest and park in the designated spot out front.
