Positive: Beautiful, traditional property set in the most tranquil and serene location. Breathtaking views of the mountains and valley. Several other properties close by but these did not in anyway spoil the peacefulness of the surroundings. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay and we were more than comfortable. We twice visited the Perlonc restaurant 50m away which serves typical mountain food - four courses with wine and coffee all for €20 each. Small grocery shop 10 mins away by car. One of the best things about our holiday, however, was Claudio our host, who communicated so well both prior to and during our stay, sending photos and in depth descriptions of where to find everything and also suggestions of places to visit. Sad to leave but we hope to return again one day.
Negative: The drive up to the property from Idro is not for the faint-hearted. Hairpin bends aplenty with barely enough room for two cars to pass. However, if you have nerves of steel and can stomach the ride, the rewards at your destination are more than worth it.
