Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Excellect location. Jumped on a train at the airport (be aware YOU NEED TO validate your ticket when getting on the train even though you have only just bought it or you will be kicked off at the next station to validate and catch the following train) Apartment was a few steps from Hackesher Markt train station, walking distance to sights and lots of restaurants next door. Being able to wash clothes was a big plus although we could not find a clothes horse so had washing hanging around the apartment. Host requires you to provide a time and to call 1 hour prior to getting to the apartment which can be problematic if you do not have phone service. The apartment is adequate for a few days.
Negative: This apartment is is obviously a holiday house with the ususal mismatched furniture that you would expect to see at such a place. The bedroom is a very odd shape which means that there is approx 6 inches between the bed and wall at one point and in the middle of the night you do need to be aware of this or crack your shin. What lets this apartment down is the state of the hallways of the building it is in. They look as though they have not been cleaned in months (or years) and there was an distinct odour on our floor.
