2 Bedroom Boat Rental in Coeur d'Alene

Not many have experienced a houseboat - now you can! Come spend a while soaking in CDA lake and it's beautiful sunsets on the ONLY houseboat rental in Coeur d'Alene. This is a remodeled 80's CruiseAHome, known for its spacious feel that includes a full kitchen and bath. Has the optional front sleeping berth and convertible dinette for the kids and/or extra guests. Master stateroom has a door for full privacy. Modern upgrades like 2 TV's & wifi. Just make sure you can handle movement- it's a boat ;-) Stay near world-famous downtown Coeur d'Alene in a unique space not only by the lake, but on the lake in a very cool houseboat! The boat is parked in front of another great VRBO rental - the historic Apache Rock Shop A-frame cabin, now known as "Eagle Outpost" - (https://www.vrbo.com/7261088ha?adultsCount=2&preferlocale=true&uni_id=6553066&vgdc=HAUS). Enjoy one of the few truly private lake properties with beach & docks along the beautiful northeast section of Lake Coeur d' Alene. The scenic lake drive here is easy, just 10 minutes from downtown along a major road (not the case with many CDA lake properties, many are 1/2 hr + away and off windy narrow gravel roads). This neck of the woods spans over an acre with no immediate neighbors, including a private hill trail to 200ft of lakefront. Do something different than your typical stay at an average house in a packed residential neighborhood - remember you're in scenic north Idaho! Have a beach campfire, watch eagles soar (this area has one of the largest bald eagle populations in America), soak in amazing sunsets from the perfectly situated west facing shoreline, and countless other possible activities unique to this space. The houseboat can be available for different group sizes, from an artist's solo retreat, a romantic getaway, to small group gatherings. IMPORTANT NOTE - until the new docks with power are built (fingers crossed by mid summer), the houseboat is OFF-GRID. Power comes via solar, batteries, propane, and a gas generator. Utilities like hot water are limited, so if you're not the adventurous type who's ok with a little attentiveness (possibly filling provided gas into a generator, switching propane bottles, etc) I definitely recommend looking elsewhere. This said it's not hard! - look at over a year of reviews, I've had guests of all types who haven't minded it at all :-) Once docks and full power are completed I'll revise the listing. More about this below. ALSO - THE BOAT ROCKS. Until the new docks are complete with breakwalls, the ever increasing boat traffic on CDA Lake plus bigger wakesurf boats plus inexperienced boaters not heeding the 200' rule are sending good sized waves at the boat during prime hours on nice boating days (again more about this below.) Just above the boat you'll find the beginning of the awesome paved Centennial Trail for walking and biking, taking you all the way to Spokane some 23 miles away if adventurous! Being a lake property, there are water toys available on a shared basis (cabin guests have beach rights too) for your use - a 25' water trampoline with balance logs, launch pads and slide, 3 SUP's, inflatable rafts and kayaks, a solo hard kayak, four 17ft canoes, a windsurfer and more as the list keeps growing! Also enjoy picnic tables and propane barbecues, even a firepit on the beach for those cool nights and smores roasts... I've spent entire days down there with the family, why go anywhere else ;) Also available on a shared basis are his and her bikes and kids bikes - after all you have the Centennial Trail right across the road! Bringing young kids? - I can also provide a bike trailer if asking in advance. Depending on days of week and time of season you may or may not have the beach area and toys to yourselves. In my experience so far, cabin and houseboat guests (if bookings have both at the same time) have all got along great at the shared lakefront, often having kids play together and making friendships. Sharing bikes has also been harmonious, but if you really want to have privacy or if you definetly want certain amenities, feel free to reach out beforehand to discuss. IMPORTANT NOTICE - the trail to lake (across from where you park) is steep, about 80 feet of decline including stair sections (see pics, 70 steps total), so please be in average physical condition and watch the little ones. It's really not that bad as it's a nicely improved path. I take my entire family with kids ranging in age from 3 to 10 years quite often, so just be aware of it, and definitely do not book if you can't do lots of stairs and/or have a need to pack big and heavy travel bags. There isn't yet a tram or similar system, so pack light and note that rollies don't really work on rough surfaces. If your setting up for a special event and need help with large items (like full coolers, party supplies, etc), let me know and I will arrange help. Also there's a somewhat busy road (depending on time of day and season) out front (see in pics) before the lake trail, and no gates yet on both sides of the half circular driveway where you'll be parking, so watch the kids and pets as you navigate from car to houseboat. ALSO IMPORTANT - you'll be staying on a boat. For the inexperienced, it could prove difficult as the boat can rock a little to alot on this lake depending on conditions. Sometimes it's perfectly still, but if the lake is busy and/or there are high winds, she'll rock so queasy stomachs not recommended. Also though it feels spacious for a boat, it's still a boat with an interior roughly 10'x30' (300 sqft). It's small by house standards, especially the bathroom (see pics), but like a tiny home it works and is quite fun for all who aren't claustrophobic ;). Just be prepared for things like a smaller toilet (some body types may have trouble), smaller refrigerator, and full not queen or king sized beds. Also - the boat stays moored. Sorry I'm not insured for taking it out, and it's difficult to drive for most. But you never know, a chartered journey is not out of the realm of possibilities! PS - I'm planning 2 all new stable pier docks to be installed this summer. Currently there is only one (as seen in pics). One will be reserved for cabin guests, the other exclusive to you, creating an even more amazing experience when finished. There will also be designated beaches and private trails to each area :) For activity lovers, north Idaho is an amazing four season playground for watersports, hiking, biking, atv riding, fishing, gem finding, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling, etc. Down-time activities include a growing list of excellent restaurants, bars, music venues, coffee houses, and a wide variety of shops. Information buffs can explore the areas rich history in forestry, mining, and transportation via some great local tours and museums. Other major attractions nearby include Silverwood theme park and Silver Rapids indoor waterpark. The possibilities are endless! Reach out beforehand and let me know what you're interested in, or let me help you create an itinerary - I know this area and its people and businesses very well, and promise to help make your vacation unforgettable :) PETS - we are dog friendly, but pets do require pre-approval, and must abide by rules and a $50 per pet per stay fee. Other pets please inquire. No cats, sorry. Thanks and please reach out if you have any questions at all. Thank you!
