2 Bedroom House in Bullas
Casita La Mimosa is a sunny purpose-built Casita with a private swimming pool set in beautiful grounds located adjacent to the main house on a 2000 meter sq. plot. Entrance to the Casita and main house is from the Camino (country lane) via electronic gates into a large driveway, with many large trees providing ample shaded, secure parking and privacy. The Casita and main house are separated by a pretty trellis covered with climbing blackberry vine, grapevine, and other flowers. The casita has 2 bedrooms one with a double bed and the other with twin beds. Both rooms have their bathroom (however the main bedroom is en-suite). The main bedroom faces the side of the Casita and the view is directly facing our 4000 sq meter. orchard, which has a variety of trees including almond trees, olive trees, plum, apples, apricot, fig, and other fruit trees. The second bedroom faces the garden and pool and again is very private. Both rooms are very bright and sunny. There is a lounge/kitchen diner which is fully equipped with a fridge-freezer, electric cooker, microwave, and ample utensils. Two large and very comfortable sofas, a table for four, a TV with both Spanish and UK channels. There are many books, games, videos and CD's in the casita for your use. The casita is very comfortable, clean and well maintained. Visitors have access to all the grounds in front of and to the side of the casita which consists of a 9 x 4 enclosed and safe, swimming pool with plenty of space for sitting, sunbathing and relaxing. To the side of the casita is a large pergola with a table and 4 chairs and retracting canvas roof cover and side panel. There is also an external shower for the swimming pool and an outside toilet with washbasin, just for your use. The area around the pool has been landscaped and planted with bright and beautiful flowers (seasonal) and some beautiful trees. The owners live on-site and do tend to the grounds and the swimming pool but every effort is made to do these jobs when our visitors are not in the garden or pool to cause as little disruption as possible. However, there are occasions when we have to water the plants and tend to the pool even when our visitors are there but, we try to be as discreet as possible, respecting our visitors' privacy. We are happy to interact with our visitors at their request and we are here to assist you as much as we can if and when needed. Our town is very Spanish and little English is spoken so if you need any help we can assist. This is the countryside and therefore, we ask our visitors to please respect our grounds and to put unwanted food items and litter in the appropriate bins provided and not litter the ground. If you need anything you are very welcome to ask us first. Bullas - The village of Bullas is a typical Spanish country village with a long tradition of winemaking (there are more than 8 bodegas in and around the village and many homes still have bodegas in their cellars /sotano) and, the area is steeped in history. You can visit the Wine Museum in Bullas for a tour on the history of wine making and taste some of the local wines. A must is a visit to La Casa de Don Pepe Marsilla, (a Period House) in Bullas, the Central Church and The Clock Tower - (visits cannot be made to the clock tower on days when it’s very windy but this is a very interesting place to visit). This is the real Spain, and of course there are a great number of fiestas heartily celebrated throughout the year and every year they are celebrated with just as much enthusiasm and excitement as the year before and always with great food and an abundance of our local wine (Bullas D.O) and beer (Estrella brewed in Murcia). You will always get a warm welcome from the friendly inhabitants of Bullas & La Copa our sister village. Bullas is surrounded by so many beautiful towns and villages , like Cehegin, Mula & the town of Caravaca, who are our neighbours and, we have some of the most beautiful mountains ranges, mountain walks & hikes as well as country walks and cycling paths like the Via Verde & El Romero both of which are accessed directly outside our front gate. There are some amazing places of interest and activities for you to enjoy. Bullas has just about everything you need so, there’s little need to travel outside of the area if you are not looking for an active holiday. There are Bars & Restaurants, Kebab, Pizza & Burger bars, Supermarkets/small shops, banks, Chemists, a 24 hour Medical Centre (Centro de Salud), Clothe shops and sports shops, an amazing Tuesday street market, & a monthly Farmer's market (1st Sunday of each month) - La Rafa is the local Camping and Caravan park which also has an outdoor pool a great restaurant (called Campoy’s) which is open every day and serves very good food. The area of La Rafa also has sports facilities like Tennis & Paddle and gym a football ground and is a great place to walk. Actually, Bullas has everything you would expect from a popular and busy village. We even have shops which are open on Sunday mornings and would rival Tesco or Sainsbury’s in the UK for their Sunday morning shoppers!! There is also a super waterfall called El Salto de Usaro which is where most of the Bullaros (the locals) spend their summers. However, due to its popularity, you now need to book your place (and car parking) for visits each year if you plan to visit between 28th June and 8th September. Once you have booked and paid for your time at Casita la Mimosa I can forward you the info or you can visit Murcia Tourism for more details. Bullas has excellent road connections to many cities such as Madrid 403km, Granada (Alhambra Palace in Granada) 262km, Valencia 305km, Albacete 240km, Alicante 128 & Benidorm 175km as well as those other cities further south. Alicante Airport is 121km & Murcia International Airport is 70km. Cartagena is just 1 hour - about 93km and, the Sierra Espuña mountain range is approximately 50km from the Casita. There is so much to say about this region but its all too much to put on paper so, my suggestion is that you visit Casita La Mimosa and be prepared for many days out and a great holiday with many different activities or if you wish, just come and enjoy our local gastronomy great (Bullas DO) wine and laze by our pool with some lovely music or a good book! Caravaca de la Cruz - a legendary and cultured City just 20km from Bullas. The historical foot-prints is from Medieval Renaissance Baroque to 19th/ 20th Century Caravaca. In 1998 Rome granted the ‘Sanctuary of Santísima Vera Cruz’ (the True Cross), the right to celebrate in Perpetuity, Jubilee, every 7 years from 2003. However, Caravaca is more than just about the Santísima Vera Cruz - its a very lively town and there is a beautiful natural park well worth a visit called Las Fuentes del Marqués located about 2km from the centre of Caravaca… and the restaurant located in this park is very good and worth a visit too. A good time to visit Caravaca is at the end of April into early May for the celebration of the ‘Los Caballos del Vino? (or commonly referred to as The Horse Wine) fiesta Murcia City Centre. If you are looking for historical charm with a modern twist you will find it here. just 53km from Bullas. There is a reliable and frequent bus service from Bullas to the City of Murcia, (details are available). The hour on the bus to Murcia allows you the time to enjoy the beautiful sights, the towns & villages en route and an opportunity to relax and recover from your fun day out on the way back. Whilst in Murcia why not visit the EL TÍO DE LA BARCA where you can rent a paddleboat to ‘walk’ (boat) along the river Segura as it passes through the city of Murcia. Sounds like a great experience. Shopping Centre Zigzag - This leisure centre contains several businesses and dining options with an open-air terrace. It also has a large central plaza where various activities for the public are held and, it’s within walking distance from the city centre. Terra Natura (Aqua Park and Wildlife Park) is a great place to spend a day or two with a variety of pools and flumes it will certainly keep you cool and active all day. The Wildlife Park is in stunning grounds with so much to see you may need to make two visits. All this at just 40km from Bullas and 5 minutes or so drive to two lovely Commercial Centres……. We often have discounted tickets here at the Casita for our visitors and when you go to Terra Natura on your first visit, you will normally be offered the opportunity of returning the next day free of charge - you just need to provide proof of identity. So one day for the Pool and the other for the Wildlife Park. Welcome to Thader & Nueva Condomina. From either of these shopping malls, you can access the local tram service - Tranvia) into Murcia City at a very reasonable price (I paid €1.40 for a single ticket) and parking at both malls are free. There is something for everyone from 'designer chic to bargain basement'. You won’t be disappointed with your visits to either centre but be prepared for a long day. A trip to Lorca is a must for any visitor to Spain. The Town was declared a historic and artistic site in 1964 and is known as the Baroque City. Lorca is 60km from Bullas. Lorca has been awarded the Europa Nostra Award for promoting the conservation of heritage with the restoration of six of its churches in the historic centre after the earthquakes suffered in 2011. Alhama de Murcia is 45km from Bullas and is close to the new Murcia International Airport which was finally opened in 2019. Alhama means Thermal Baths and is a city that is associated with the hot springs that flow from the mountains. You can visit the ruins of the Roman baths, which has now been converted into an archaeological museum.
