Positive: The location was great for us, 6 minutes walk from a Spar, 10 minutes from a supermarket and decent cafes & restaurants. We hired a car so could drive North quite frequently and get to the more authentic parts of the island. The complex is quite well maintained by friendly staff who were always lovely to our toddler. The pools aren't heated but that didn't faze me, it was nice and quiet too as the complex seems to mostly attract 50-70 year olds, with a few families with younger children like ours. There is a small playground our son really enjoyed. Our host, Manu sent lots of great recommendations for restaraunts on whatsapp and was quick to respond and friendly. The apartment itself has a good sized fridge freezer and dining table, lovely big terrace with ample seating, huge TV, glasses, plates and two electric hobs you could cook on and the non-stick pans hadn't been scratched to oblivion by past guests who don't know how to care for teflon. The shower has two heads, the waterfall was lovely and the water can get quite hot. The blind in the bedroom blocks out the light really well and there is plenty of space for storing clothes.
Negative: There are cats that roam the complex that are fed by some of the residents, this in itself isn't an issue for us as we love cats, but there is an issue where cat faeces isn't disposed of. It seems the team who take care of the complex pick it up in the more communal spaces quite regularly so it doesn't build up, but the small pebble garden outside the bedroom window was basically a huge litter box - not nice to look at and quite unsanitary. The whole apartment is tiled and the floors are clearly mopped regularly. However the grout clearly needs a deep clean to scrub the staining as it looked quite grotty in some places. A deep treatment and some elbow grease would make the whole floor come up lovely. The sofa needs pulling out and the floor cleaning underneath, we dropped a white sock and when retrieved it was grimy. Some elements of the apartment are tired; for example the bathroom counter top is made of nice big stone but it is cracked in two places and should be sealed to keep it sanitary and from getting progressively worse. The tablecloth needs replacing as it's cracked, the door of the wardrobe had a big dent in it. Some paintwork needed redoing, particularly in the bedroom around the bed and under the wardrobe. The fan in the bathroom is clinging on for dear life but it needs a good clean if not replacing. The sealant in the shower and around the toilet also needs replacing as it's stained. It would be nice to have some information in the apartment on arrival, i.e. what time the pool opens & closes, how far the shop is, which beaches are walking distance and what food the bar typically offers and when. Final note - it appears the website have calculated my rating as 5*, which is interesting as I would not rate this as 5*. I don't think it's good value - we paid €552 + a cleaning fee of €61.35 for 6 nights which is a lot compared to other properties in the complex.
