Holiday house Casa di Pietra Matelići is located in a small and beautiful Istrian village Matelići in the middle of Istria surrounded by forests and meadows, in a region whose beauty we want to share with you. After much work and effort it is finally possible to move into our house. It was completely renovated this year, but with a dose of the original Mediterranean tradition consisting of old wooden floors and beams and stone that adorns the walls of all the bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a small but well equiped kitchen, dining room with living room, two bathrooms and a separate bedroom. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with double beds (180x200, 180x190) and a small room with a single bed (130x190). The whole house is equipped with WiFi. For cooler nights, there is an old wood stove in the kitchen that can be heated or cooked like Grandma's old days. The two bedrooms and living room are equipped with a new large TV. In the yard we have a barbecue, a large dining table with benches, a lounge bar and a hammock in the shade for rest after lunch. In addition, in the yard you can find sun loungers and a prefabricated swimming pool for children. You will see a small garden with various flowers.
Due to its central location, all major attractions are located 15-20 minutes car drive from the House. Of the nearby towns, the nearest is the medieval Vodnjan (Dignano) where there is a larger supermarket and tourist attractions. If you are still adventurous, nearby is Glavani Park, the largest adrenaline park in Croatia. Tailored for all ages, it offers a multitude of activities, and one of them is the zip line. Also, the area is rich in trails for walking and cycling, and the nearest trail is located in Vodnjan, the Trail of Medieval Roads, about 6.5 km long. If you prefer natural beauty, in the old town of Kotli, in the valley of the river Rečina, there is the Trail of Seven Waterfalls. The village is also known for its old Istrian stone houses in which, unfortunately, no one lives anymore. Other activities include paragliding, hang-gliding, horseback riding in the Horse Valley near Roč, hiking, free climbing (Buzet canyon, Hum, Raspadalica) and hunting and fishing. If you are interested in speleology, near Slum there is a Cave into which you can descend up to 60m. One of the "must see" cities is the small romantic town of Bale (Valle) , known for its Istrian stone houses and blue shutters. There is the wacky cafe called Stone Story. In the town of Svetvinčenat (San Vincenti) you can eat the best pizza in Pizzeria Grimani, overlooking the old medieval castle Morosini Grimani where you can play a unique Escape Castle game and compete with other teams. Twenty minutes drive from home, there is the most romantic Istrian town Rovinj (Rovigno). A city of colorful facades where almost every house has its own story to tell. The charming old part of the city, streets and houses that touch the sea, beaches and the archipelago of the islands delight many tourists and local visitors. In the largest city of Istria, Pula, you will find numerous Roman buildings, the most famous being the Pula Arena. In order to ensure a better time in our lovely holiday home and the beautiful parts of Istria, we will provide you with all the necessary information when you come to our house.
