Costalta is one of the highest towns in the Val Comelico, upper Cadore. On the regional road between Santo Stefano di Cadore and Sappada, at the height of Mare di San Pietro, turn and go up for about four kilometers to reach the main square of the village, on which overlooks the reception of widespread Hospitality.
Costalta is the ideal place for walking and diving in the pine forests to breathe oxygen and maybe give in to the wonder of discovering and collecting mushrooms. Above the houses in the meadows the ancient wooden tabiés still house sheep, goats and a few cows. On the paths that lead from the woods and meadows to the houses, one day in July 1987 he walked down to meet the people, Pope John Paul II, Karol Wojtyla.
From Costalta in a few minutes by car you can reach the wonderful Val Visdende, Auronzo, Sappada, Padola, Pusteria and the Austrian Gail valley.
