A pretty roadside cottage right in the centre of The Brecon Beacons National Park. This pretty simple stone built cottage was originally built in 1650 and for many generations was used as a Carpenters Shop. It is now a cosy haven for hill walkers; the cottage is only 4 miles from Storey Arms at the base of Pen-y-fan and access to The Taff Trail opposite the back of the cottage across the A.470. Again within easy reach of Brecon, approximately 4 miles and less than a mile from the nearest village pub in Libanus - The Tir Bull or a short drive to Defynnog with the Tanners Inn and The Old Yewtree Inn. There is a walk across the fields to The Brecon Beacons National Park Mountain Centre - where visitors can get information about the National Park and sit and enjoy the view and have a meal or coffee. The owner is a keen Motorcyclist, so visiting Motorcyclists are very welcome here - a wonderful place to stay to explore the empty roads and glorious scenery of The Brecon Beacons, South Wales Valleys and up into Mid Wales. Visitors are also welcome to bring a pet with miles of walking on the Brecon Beacons close by. Accommodation: Sleep 2/3 - one bedroom with a double bed. At the back of the cottage is a small kitchen with an electric cooker, microwave, a fridge and a freezer. A back door leads out to a small court yard area with table chairs and a BBQ. There is a dining room with dining table and chairs and a step down to the spacious sitting room with a sofa and chairs. There is a very pretty "cart arch" window - flooding the cottage with light and wooden floors. There is a TV with SKY Q with a basic Sky package. There is also Wifi. Full oil central heating makes this cottage always warm and welcoming. The bathroom is downstairs with a bath, hand basin and toilet. Unfortunately in such an old cottage there is no headroom to have a shower. Upstairs - which are traditional and are fairly steep, to a large bedroom. Bedroom 1: Double bed. There is also a futon bed if there is an extra person. There are great night skies here - lie in bed and gaze through the velux windows.
