About the property
Carnation Cottage combines eight luxury, self-contained properties into one quirky and flexible accommodation solution for up to 22 guests. Five (Hollyhock, Mimosa, Muscari, Sunflower and Lotus Cottages) are apartment-style cottages housed within the estate's original stable block. The other three (Camassia and Fritillaria Cottages) are housed within the sensitively restored bakery and dairy and vault where features include the original 18th-century cheese press. Meanwhile, the grounds of the estate invite you to walk in the gardens, admire the sea views in the distance or visit the resident alpacas. Great days out include delightful beaches, the Wales Coastal Path and the charming town of Cowbridge.
The space
Carnation Cottage comprises eight suite and apartment-style cottages housed within the estate's former dairy and bakery buildings (that are attached) and the original stable block.

Mimosa Cottage: Ground-floor suite housed in the original stable block. Features an open-plan living space with kitchen, dining area and a lounge, plus a separate bedroom with king-size bed and a shower room.
Hollyhock Cottage: First-floor suite housed in the original stable block. Features an open-plan living space with kitchen, dining area, lounge plus a separate bedroom area with king-size, sleigh bed. An en-suite with rolltop bath and walk-in shower is on a mezzanine level.
Muscari Cottage: Ground-floor, studio apartment housed in the original stable block. Features a king-size, low-level bed, mini kitchen (microwave, 2-ring hob and small fridge) concealed behind a Japanese-style cupboard and an en-suite shower room.
Fritillaria Cottage: Ground-floor, luxury room housed in the estate's former bakery with vaulted ceiling. Features a king-size bed, desk, two-seat sofa and en-suite shower room with walk-in shower. Tea and coffee facilities (no kitchen).
Bamboo Cottage: Basement level, luxury guest room of the former dairy of the estate
Sunflower Cottage
1 Bedroom / 1 Bathroom / 2 Guests
Housed in the original stable block and perfect for two. Features a lounge with two sofas, a kitchen, a double bedroom with king-size bed and a conservatory/dining room.
Camassia Cottage
2 Bedrooms / 2 Bathrooms / 4 Guests
Fairy tale-style cottage set out over two floors in the estate's former dairy. Features an open-plan living area with lounge, dining area and kitchen. Upstairs there's a king-size bedroom and en-suite shower room, plus a twin bedroom with private shower room.
Lotus Cottage
3 Bedrooms / 3 Bathrooms / 6 Guests
First floor, apartment-style cottage housed in the original stable block. Features two king-size bedrooms (one with en-suite shower room and one with an en-suite bathroom) and a twin room with en-suite shower room. There are mezzanine levels accessed via loft stairs.
Outdoor space
The estate's 9 acres of gardens and grounds are perfect for a quiet stroll, a picnic or admiring the sunset over the sea in the distance. You will also have access to a separate shared laundry room with a washing machine, iron and ironing board situated in the outer courtyard.
Guest access
There is a key safe where you can access the key to the property for a self-check-in.
The estate grounds and gardens are communal areas that are available to guests of the manor house and all the apartments and cottages at the site.

Accidental Damage Deposit: To maintain the highest standards in our properties, guests will need to pay a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £300 prior to their stay. An advance payment as detailed in the booking summary can be made to waive this requirement.
Book with confidence: If your booking is affected by new Government travel restrictions which were not known at the time of booking, and you're legally unable to travel, we will arrange with the property owner to refund 100% of your holiday cost.
