Occupying a significant proportion of the ground floor of a classic Edwardian villa, Captain’s Rest evokes the elegance of the era, the original leaded windows, magnificent carved fireplace and oak floors of the drawing room complemented by sumptuous furnishings and richly textured fabrics, collectively exuding a warm and sophisticated ambience. Technology, however, is decidedly 21st Century thanks to a 50” Smart TV and superfast fibre broadband. A dining table and upholstered chairs are set into the deep bay window of the drawing room, perfectly positioned for watching the setting sun cast its golden glow over Bamburgh’s famous coastline. Next to the spacious double bedroom, decorated in soft creams and furnished with a king size bed, dressing table and wardrobe, is a luxurious bathroom with walk-in rain shower, twin basins and underfloor heating. A split level aspect leads down to a compact but well-equipped kitchen where you’ll find an electric oven and grill, ceramic hob, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a Nespresso coffee machine, with a washer/dryer and microwave located in a cupboard off the hall. A café table and chairs are located next to French doors which open on to a private patio; beyond this the lawns of the communal garden where there is private storage for bikes and outdoor kit. GROUND FLOOR Sitting room/dining area with two large sofas set around a wood burning stove. Technology includes a 50” Smart TV with DVD player and a selection of DVDs. There is a cleverly designed pull down bed which is integrated into the wall cavity and can be included as an extra at an additional charge of £40 for 1 - 3 nights and £80 for 4 - 7 nights. There is a formal dining space with seating for four. Bathroom with large walk in double shower with rainforest head, heated towel rail, underfloor heating, double vanity unit, shaving point and WC. Bedroom with 5‘ king size bed, side tables, dressing table and wardrobe. Kitchen is on a lower level and is 5 steps down. The kitchen benefits from underfloor heating and is well equipped with an electric oven and grill, ceramic hob, large fridge/freezer, 3/4 dishwasher, and a Krups Nespresso coffee machine. There is a small cafe table and two chairs with French doors leading out to a small sitting out area and lovely shared rear garden. A microwave and a washer/dryer sits in a cupboard off the main hallway. OUTSIDE There is a large shared lawned garden with a summerhouse tucked to the rear of the property. There a small area for sitting out directly outside the French doors adjoining the kitchen space. A private shed is available for guests to store bikes and outdoor gear. PARKING Ample private off-street parking sits to the side of the property. BABIES & CHILDREN A travel cot and highchair are available on request. Please note that the garden is not enclosed. DOGS Dogs are not permitted at this property. GUEST AMENITIES High quality linen along with luxury goose down pillows. The duvet is Harrods luxury microfibre. A hairdryer is provided. Luxury guest toiletries are supplied. WI-FI & MOBILE COVERAGE Superfast fibre broadband is available. Mobile reception is poor within the immediate property.
