This adorable lake front tree house is the perfect romantic getaway. Only one hour east of Dallas, the tiny Hummingbird Tree House is back in the woods on a 31 acre wildlife habitat that seems like another world. With limited cell signal, this magical property is the perfect escape from the stress and noise of city life. It is at the end of a one lane road and more peaceful than most state parks. A short walk from the parking area but it feels very secluded. Two guests can sleep comfortably in a queen bed and one small person in the loft. Meticulously handcrafted with reclaimed materials, it has screened operable windows, a leaded glass hummingbird window, an operable pothole window and a large, elevated deck with tables and chairs overlooking the front pond. There are lights and electricity but no heat or air. Off road wagons are provided to help quests with their gear. The rustic outhouse is 20' from the tree house. It is handcrafted with reclaimed cedar fence pickets and rusted corrugated metal and a touch of class hummingbird window. Clean and civilized, it has lights, a modern, composting toilet, sink with water, soap and towels. There is a nearby outdoor cold water shower and a sink and counter for cleaning dishes. There is access to a nearby fire pit with a grill and cordwood is available for purchase. Guests can fish the two stocked ponds, swim, paddle kayaks and paddle boards, hike the trails or explore the Texas Zoofari Park next door. See over 900 exotic animals on this 950 acre park. Many can be seen from the road or you can pay to drive through and feed the animals from your car.
